it's a rip of a stream

caek, Monday, 13 May 2013 20:56 (thirteen years ago)

I can imagine the three others members of Anima Collective around a computer, listening to Doin' it right
"well I think that... "
".... the things is..."
"...woah"
"...ok...."

Van Horn Street, Monday, 13 May 2013 20:58 (thirteen years ago)

i think there are itunes rips doing the rounds now? mine seems to be 256kpbpbs and the production doesn't sound lacking

it sounds like an expensive slog tbh, like MBDTF and the latest timberlake

flamenco drop (lex pretend), Monday, 13 May 2013 20:59 (thirteen years ago)

oh man... great tips

we're up all night to get (s1ocki), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:00 (thirteen years ago)

the Air Meets Steely Dan comparison is spot on. especially in Fragments Of Time

nostormo, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:01 (thirteen years ago)

was this the highest # posts prior to leak/release/etc on ilx?

ok todd the god i'm gonna really need you to bring in your BEAT as well as your voice on your track because i'm flagging badly in the home stretch

transcoding a 128 kbps stream to 256 kbps doesn't make it sound like 256 kbps

乒乓, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:03 (thirteen years ago)

So if the À Nos Amours characters had a party on a Yacht that would be the soundtrack.

Van Horn Street, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:03 (thirteen years ago)

Love this but have issues with the live drums in spots, namely end of Giorgio and Contact. Seems like they came down on the wrong side of "virtuosity" vs. "taste". On the other hand, I'll forgive a lot for the handclaps in "Lose yourself to dance"

Deverly (Bangelo), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:04 (thirteen years ago)

i don't know what "transcoding" is

flamenco drop (lex pretend), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:04 (thirteen years ago)

Also listening at Fragments of Time a sincere WTF for whomever of the listening parties who described it as a country song.

Moka, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:07 (thirteen years ago)

You can hear Todd's cutups in the chorus for Fragments of Time. They're subtle, but they're definitely there.

MarkoP, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:07 (thirteen years ago)

well imagine you took a small picture

and made it really big

http://i.imgur.com/RX97Sp7.jpg

the actual quality of the picture doesn't change, only the size

乒乓, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:08 (thirteen years ago)

aw that it sweet of u to lexplain

the ~expressive~ quality does change, tho

there is no special cathexis with mini fried donuts (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:08 (thirteen years ago)

lol at this whole viewing the earth from space ~rousing epic~ to close the album where they just throw the whole kitchen sink in for effect. listen to "hello earth" to see how it's done properly robot guys.

prolego, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:09 (thirteen years ago)

haha well me and lex have talked about this before. i still maintain that the official 320 kbps version of a tell-tale heart is just the 128 kbps version transcoded. sounds exactly the same

Excitement builds across Wee Waa

http://s10.postimg.org/cyq8i0tfd/a6f7e66a6031337001655d616ce68fc7_XL.jpg

Businesses in Wee Waa have also been getting into the spirit.

The Wee Waa Hot Bread Shop is selling ‘Punk Pies’ and ‘techno treats’. while The Little House on Rose gift and homewares shop has changed its name to The Little Daft Punk on Rose.

They have followed the lead of Dewson’s Quality Meats, which has recently been selling ‘Random Access Rissoles’ (a take on the album name, Random Access Memories) and ‘Daft Pork’ sausages.

West Egg Girls (King Boy Pato), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:10 (thirteen years ago)

some music is just so poorly engineered that there's little difference between 128 and 320 kbps rips

frogbs, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:11 (thirteen years ago)

the italo parts aren't for italo fans, they're for people who have heard giorgio's radio hits!

this todd edwards track :(((((((

WHEN I SEE THE NAME TODD EDWARDS I WANT A TODD EDWARDS BEAT NOT TODD EDWARDS PRETENDING TO BE SOME SORT OF SENSITIVE SINGER-SONGWRITER TROUBADOUR UGHHHHHHH

flamenco drop (lex pretend), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:13 (thirteen years ago)

disappointing.
the hype made me believe this is going to be a "groundbreaking" dance record or something.
using Auto-tune is a pretty old idea.

nostormo, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:15 (thirteen years ago)

i like the panda bear track a lot objectively speaking but it sounds really wrong on this album

J0rdan S., Monday, 13 May 2013 21:15 (thirteen years ago)

of course hardly any of the people raving about it have hitherto given the tiniest shit about todd the god :(

flamenco drop (lex pretend), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:15 (thirteen years ago)

yo nilmar, r u convinced now??

乒乓, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:15 (thirteen years ago)

the aac rip sounds fucking fantastic and way better than the first rip

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:18 (thirteen years ago)

oh my god even vocodered to hell panda bear remains unlistenable, what the hell does he think he's doing with his phrasing? like a fucking idiot toddler doing an eye test. WHY DOES HE EXIST

flamenco drop (lex pretend), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:18 (thirteen years ago)

like a fucking idiot toddler doing an eye test

what the hell does this even mean

far too much asshole flesh (DJP), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:19 (thirteen years ago)

im going to d/l but i have to finish playing some other shit

also probably moot whether i can tell the difference between real or ersatz 256k on laptop speakers and after a bottle of wine

there is no special cathexis with mini fried donuts (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:19 (thirteen years ago)

man, haven't even heard that song yet but really interested in the panda bear song now

tweeship journey to 77 (mh), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:20 (thirteen years ago)

i'm on my work laptop right now and i can easily tell the difference, can't wait to blast this on my good setup at home

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:20 (thirteen years ago)

oh come on, I thought lex's eye test thing was a good diss

tweeship journey to 77 (mh), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:21 (thirteen years ago)

like a fucking idiot toddler doing an eye test.

new favourite insult

and yes 'panda bear' is a fucken waste of oxygen

West Egg Girls (King Boy Pato), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:21 (thirteen years ago)

why would you give a toddler an eye test?

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:21 (thirteen years ago)

i mean they can't really express themselves well verbally at that stage. they can barely walk. just doesn't seem to make sense.

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:22 (thirteen years ago)

you wouldnt give a toddler an eye test, youd give an idiot toddler an eye test

we're up all night to get (s1ocki), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:22 (thirteen years ago)

i guess there are probably special eye tests for toddlers

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:22 (thirteen years ago)

"really interested in the panda bear song now"

sounds like a Tomboy track with some aotutune hook in the backround and a minimalist production.

nostormo, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:22 (thirteen years ago)

maybe he's not an idiot, maybe he just can't see very well

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:22 (thirteen years ago)

I've seen children with glasses, it's sad, to be so blind at a young age

tweeship journey to 77 (mh), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:23 (thirteen years ago)

especially when they are idiot children

West Egg Girls (King Boy Pato), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:23 (thirteen years ago)

how was their phrasing?

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:24 (thirteen years ago)

unlistenable

Van Horn Street, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:25 (thirteen years ago)

anyway i haven't really listened to this yet (just the first two songs) but LOL at grown adults where are like "I THOUGHT THE HYPE MEANT THIS WAS GOING TO BE GOOD!" guess they never had a shitty xmas or birthday as a kid, always got all the presents they wanted and had awesome parties

congratulations (n/a), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:25 (thirteen years ago)

most of this album is just very boring but the last two tracks really tip into the abyss, completely dire shit
