she (and danny brown) are reacting like people are horrified because she was heckled, when people are actually horrified that she was being heckled using sexually demeaning language that directly referred to her defending the headliner that the hecklers were presumably there to see (though apparently she shouldn't have bothered since DB basically undermined her defense)

if people were just booing and saying "you suck" no one would care

anyway this is really disappointing. i think i had a show that night or i would have been there.

that's exactly it, it sounds like it was just a couple of people at a show being jerks and prolly not even on danny brown's radar at the time and no one, even kitty, really cares all too much except the outrage factories on the internet

like, obviously chanting shit like that at a show is not cool, but not everyone has to respond with some big missive about what it means in critical terms, sometimes you can just respond by being like "this is not a big deal to me"

at the madison show danny brown came on 1 hr late b/c apparently he was so drunk/stoned that he had passed out in the tour bus. when they finally got him up it was almost 1 AM and he was clearly really groggy. this was evident in his between-song patter but his rapping was completely on point, which is some kind of real achievement.

i just note this to say that yeah he was probably completely oblivious to what was happening during kitty's set.

yeah, maybe, but i'm not into it, so i'm not too fussed.

sure, some teens will be into kitty pryde while others won't. that much is obvious enough. i meant that this strikes me as music made by and for teens, thus best evaluated by them, according to whatever weird teenage criteria they have bouncing around in their heads. when they group up, they'll re-evaluate it, and only then will we get any useful perspective on it.

of course grown-ups in the here and now will have and express opinions about it, too. we'll do this because we can't help ourselves, but grown-up opinion seems almost completely irrelevant. this music isn't for us, so the fact that many of us will hate it is no more interesting to me than the fact that a few will inevitably like it (though the former do seem a bit less creepy).
