"where did the party go", "alone together", "miss missing you" and especially "rat a tat" and "save rock and roll" can stand up with the best stuff of IOH & FAD

some of the other tracks aren't as great but i mean this thing bangs front to back in what feels like 20 minutes

J0rdan S., Saturday, 4 May 2013 00:12 (thirteen years ago)

i'm not really a lyrics guy but the lyrics to both 'rat a tat' and 'save rock n roll' vibrate a chord w/n me so much

乒乓, Saturday, 4 May 2013 00:13 (thirteen years ago)

the album feels like both an elegy and a paean to losing their youth

i think 'folie a deux' was the former... this album is just really energetic and ecstatic about moving forward imo

J0rdan S., Saturday, 4 May 2013 00:14 (thirteen years ago)

hmm, maybe i'm just too colored in by 'rat a tat', which seems to be about loving like you're 16 when you're actually 30

乒乓, Saturday, 4 May 2013 00:15 (thirteen years ago)

thats the new avril single, which also bangs

johnny crunch, Saturday, 4 May 2013 00:18 (thirteen years ago)

i definitely like how the album ends -- Elton by far the best stunt casting on an FOB album yet

Ship Lion (some dude), Saturday, 4 May 2013 00:20 (thirteen years ago)

"young volcanoes" video really kind of gave the song a whole new tone for me, in a good way (though i liked it already). i just hope they do videos with Elton and Courtney in them.

"alone together" is the next single, which seems like a smart choice

"rat a tat" is the best song ever, and then so is "save rock and roll"

I heard a little bit of "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark" being played at Mile High on Thursday night's Denver/Ravens NFL game

Finally got a hold of this album in the last week or so and pretty much no matter what else I listen to, this is what gets stuck in my head.

how's life, Monday, 9 September 2013 23:15 (twelve years ago)

This has been a very revelatory year for me, emo-wise, what with Paramore and Fall Out Boy. Should I start reading Alternative Press?

how's life, Monday, 9 September 2013 23:17 (twelve years ago)

been hearing "The Phoenix" on the local alt station lately and it sounds better in that context than it had to me as a video/album track.

PAX AM DAYS is a hoot, fun to hear them 'return' to a style they never made a record with to begin with, love how Stump is just not holding back or simplifying his singing at all and still just belts everything

deez so unusual (some dude), Tuesday, 15 October 2013 23:34 (twelve years ago)

^^ yeah, i wasn't feeling it at all because his singing is way too operatic for garage punk

乒乓, Wednesday, 16 October 2013 00:38 (twelve years ago)

see i like oversung punk. it's like the Misfits!

deez so unusual (some dude), Wednesday, 16 October 2013 01:08 (twelve years ago)

i expected at least a couple of songs of the Wentz grunts they briefly throw into previous albums but none of that

deez so unusual (some dude), Wednesday, 16 October 2013 01:09 (twelve years ago)

misfits are kinda singular imo. if this were even 1/10 as good as hybrid moments!
