Bob Lefsetz, a music industry analyst, wrote, “Get Lucky” is the song of the summer, and it’s still SPRING!”
woah
― scintilla (seandalai), Thursday, 2 May 2013 21:15 (thirteen years ago)
the nubile Lefsetz reacts positively to this DISCO creation...

Poor people on the southern hemisphere. It's the song of the Summer and it's still Autumn for them.

("Get Lucky," that is.)
― jaymc, Thursday, 2 May 2013 22:26 (thirteen years ago)
I can't think of a consensus classic from the last decade that had worse reviews.
Yeah, this is a good point.
In 2009 Metacritic compiled a bunch of different publications' "best of the decade" lists into an aggregate top 10. Kid A was #1 (order determined, from what I can tell, by the number of individual top 10 lists on which each album appeared), but it had the 2nd-lowest Metascore, behind only Amy Winehouse's Back in Black.
― jaymc, Thursday, 2 May 2013 22:33 (thirteen years ago)
Damn that is a weird BEST OF THE DECADE LIST right there; i think i only seriously stand up for amy, outkast and the stripes

― danielle steel in the hour of chaos (m bison), Friday, 3 May 2013 00:45 (thirteen years ago)
it sounded really weird on the top 20 station here. they compressed the hell out of it & it was still quieter than the songs before & after

Holy shit that blows Get Lucky away. Can't believe they got a lyric about scrambled eggs into what will definitely be a number one single. Those old guys from the 70's are right, these robots are geniuses!

whats cool about this one is that they're clearly working in a blues idiom... guess the form must have called to them in some way
