I was talking to a friend about chicken the other day. As it turns out, I completely missed the opportunity of a lifetime (one year's worth of free wings!). Damnit.

I'm liking the album so far. Song w/ T-Pain is way better than the first 2 singles, right now that and "The Glory" are my favorite tracks.

And a lot of people caught offense to that: "What do you mean you are Hip-Hop?" Obviously, that was not my point of view - that I alone, am Hip-Hop and no one isn't. The point was that while I appreciate and respect the culture, it doesn’t mean I falsely (and lamely) try to emulate it. It has its place. That place just is not in my house or on my body.

omigod best use of a Steely Dan sample ("Kid Charlemagne"!) ever, trumping even De La's.

I never liked "Get Em High" so it's hard for me to use that as a point of comparison in a good way.
I love the way the "Kid Charlemagne" sample is chopped, but I wish he didn't slather half of it in those ugly synths, it'd sound so much better without them.
― Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 31 August 2007 16:17 (seventeen years ago) link
My favorite Steely Dan rap sample is still Freeway and Joe Budden over a "Royal Scam" loop on the Ice City album.

Hip hop fashion is a distinctive style of dress originating with the African-American youth living in New York City and Los Angeles. Each city contributed various elements to its overall style seen worldwide today. Hip hop fashion complements the expressions and attitudes of hip hop culture in general. Hip hop fashion has changed significantly during its history, and today it is a prominent part of popular fashion as a whole across the world and for all ethnicities. The dashikis, baggy pants, giant clocks that hang around your neck, throwback jerseys — they’re all vibrant and different and fun.
