Harvey Milk wont make it. It was no2 behind Torche in the metal poll and Torche is in. Strangely 2 albums well below it made it here.

I'll have to track it down.

I'm rooting for Welcome to the Dollhouse.

lex pretend, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:14 (seventeen years ago)

btw after some recalculations there were more ties than just the one I stated in the original post...in case anyone was planning on demanding an explanation for the inconsistencies.

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:16 (seventeen years ago)

their worst album

Robin van Injury (country matters), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:16 (seventeen years ago)

The first time I heard of Los Camp was an email from a friend where i misread the song title as "You! Me! Danzig!" and sadly they never lived up to that image.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:22 (seventeen years ago)

hahahaha

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:25 (seventeen years ago)

ugh if I'd thought I might be quoted I'd have had something a little less goofy to say! It's deffo more than the sum of it's rather ordinary influences that one though. Great album... and no (for Matt DC) not talked about that much really, but there was a brief ILM thread. Probably bumped aside for the 15,000th waste of space Poll thread.

fandango, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:26 (seventeen years ago)

Balls to Elbow.

emil.y, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:27 (seventeen years ago)

You could've got Grouper higher!

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:28 (seventeen years ago)

*cries*

emil.y, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:31 (seventeen years ago)

5 extra points and it would've been higher than elbow

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:42 (seventeen years ago)

I could have voted but well, until about mid-December I had about as few albums I cared about as that one guy who always likes to make a point of telling you how he doesn't really like albums MAN and it's all about the tracks, and he doesn't watch TV either...

ILM hasn't really felt like a good place for catching off-the-radar releases at all for for most of last year anyway.. and the majority of the threads dominating the tone, themes, trends in action from the hivemind have seemed to be about stuff that I just don't get the big deal about AT ALL.

fandango, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:43 (seventeen years ago)

well this, trax and the metal poll thread are a great way to catch up

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:45 (seventeen years ago)

eh texturally sumptuous dance music is not too far from pop music. in many cases they both inform each other. (plus tim f knows my taste very well)

tricky, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:46 (seventeen years ago)

i would like a u.k./u.s. disaggregation of the votes. like, did any americans vote for elbow? (or any britishes for torche?)

(or, um, u.k./u.s./aussie/tuomas, i guess)

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:47 (seventeen years ago)

i voted for torche

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:48 (seventeen years ago)

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:48 (seventeen years ago)

Okay I fold, the album is really great. I'm trying to work out why something this cheap and shoddy and trashy is this affecting, and I can only put it down to that sense of sadness running through everything. It's like dying in Zelda over and over again.

Ways in which popular E4 teen comedy-drama Skins has made music better - let us list them

some black dude (k3vin k.), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:52 (seventeen years ago)

great album cover

tricky, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:52 (seventeen years ago)

it totally is. i havent heard the whole thing, but i didnt know it was so big on ILM

some black dude (k3vin k.), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:53 (seventeen years ago)

What are they looking for?

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:53 (seventeen years ago)

xpost - true, I like reading over the ILM lists when they're complete every year anyway as they're usually a bit more wtf/random/aesthetically confusing than any of the online rags... although not necessarily better quality wise!

this is the first comment that has actually made me want to hear something in this thread!

tricky, Friday, 13 February 2009 00:58 (seventeen years ago)

i didnt know it was so big on ILM

it is more hated than loved on ilm, but some people like it. i do.

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:59 (seventeen years ago)

i can only imagine that a ton of ilmers would be here freaking out about the way this list is going but are frozen in mid seizure.

From Rax to Rich's (jjjusten), Friday, 13 February 2009 00:59 (seventeen years ago)

Not heard it, but why is it hated?

The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 13 February 2009 01:00 (seventeen years ago)

Seeing these albums ahead of Grouper makes me :'( to be honest.

ilxor, Friday, 13 February 2009 01:01 (seventeen years ago)

it is hated because a.) they are allegedly assholes, and b.) see what matt dc said about cheap, shoddy, trashy, etc. but he's also otm about the sense of sadness, it's pretty melancholy and mysterious. for electrodribble.

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Friday, 13 February 2009 01:02 (seventeen years ago)

stars of bloghouse/frankendance/young(er) people getting dance wrong why is it hated?

fandango, Friday, 13 February 2009 01:02 (seventeen years ago)

What are they looking for?

knuckle-draggers of the world, unite and take over

whatever, Friday, 13 February 2009 01:05 (seventeen years ago)

"What are they looking for?"

maybe it's not so much what they are looking for as what they have lost.

tricky, Friday, 13 February 2009 01:06 (seventeen years ago)

Maybe Bono asked them to look for something

i was being kinda snide earlier, but it's a damn good list, so far. leans a bit more toward the "only in the UK" than "only in america", but that's cool.

contenderizer, Friday, 13 February 2009 01:09 (seventeen years ago)

Maybe Bono asked them to look for something

was that something him?

whatever, Friday, 13 February 2009 01:10 (seventeen years ago)

and big props to musically for the enjoyable ride these polls have so far been

whatever, Friday, 13 February 2009 01:11 (seventeen years ago)

I was lol kidding. Love Crystal Castles, and the Zelda reference indeed is on the mark.
