listening to the radio is impossible now. the other day "suit & tie" was on one station so i had to switch it, only to hear "mirrors" on the next one. so i switched that one to a third station, which was also playing "suit & tie". all my other presets were on commercials so i gave up and popped in a cd. life is tuff.

heard a DJ mix Jay's "Suit & Tie" verse with the uptempo part of the song -- whole song really should've just been that beat
― some dude, Friday, 19 April 2013 16:51 (thirteen years ago)
JT is the least of my worries turning on the radio right now. What a hellscape.
― sandra dayo connor (The Reverend), Friday, 19 April 2013 17:06 (thirteen years ago)
I made myself a mix where I took the slow parts and just sped them up at twice the speed, so that they were the same speed as the rest of the song. It was pretty great, though it did make it sound like the chorus was being sung by the Munchkins at the beginning.
― MarkoP, Friday, 19 April 2013 17:09 (thirteen years ago)
stockholm syndrome with "mirrors" now, sorry guys
― emo canon in twee major (BradNelson), Friday, 19 April 2013 18:02 (thirteen years ago)
yeah, still sucks but don't hate it as much as I hate most of everything on the radio right now :/
― Roz, Saturday, 20 April 2013 14:49 (thirteen years ago)
i mean, if he meant for it to sound epic in the same way that some of the FS/LS songs did then he failed, but whatever
strawberry bubblegum rly just needs some new lyrics fuck. he can't quite pull off dem MC kinda lyrics
― surm, Saturday, 20 April 2013 16:54 (thirteen years ago)

Like that Rhianna "Stay" thing
― Raymond Cummings, Sunday, 21 April 2013 00:13 (thirteen years ago)
Nah "Stay" is good
― some dude, Sunday, 21 April 2013 18:58 (thirteen years ago)
In the last hour I've heard "Mirrors" and "That Girl" in this here Starbucks.

I should've poured passion tea on their computer.
― the little prince of inane false binary hype (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Sunday, 21 April 2013 19:10 (thirteen years ago)
I liked "Stay" fine as an album track but there's no reason I need to hear it by its lonesome.
― sandra dayo connor (The Reverend), Sunday, 21 April 2013 19:15 (thirteen years ago)
"stay" is dull dreck, as is "mirrors". i guess "stay" is slightly worse but it's hardly an edifying battle
― flamenco drop (lex pretend), Sunday, 21 April 2013 20:38 (thirteen years ago)
the other day i was at the dollar store and this little girl said to her older sister she was like "I hate this song" (referring to stay) and the sister was like "waht? this is a good song"
and the little girl goes "not when you hear it all the time on the radio. i'm so sick of it"
the end

I've noticed that Icona Pop's "I Love It" has been doing well lately on the Billboard charts. Has that been getting a lot of radio play in the US?
― MarkoP, Sunday, 21 April 2013 22:55 (thirteen years ago)
ugh yes, and it's in some bloody commercial
― surm, Sunday, 21 April 2013 23:00 (thirteen years ago)
yep it's on all the time

I came to the conclusion today that my two favorite (non-deluxe/bonus) songs on this album are the last two.
― alpine static, Friday, 3 May 2013 23:04 (thirteen years ago)
ain't happening for me.
― brb buying poppers w/my employee discount (forksclovetofu), Friday, 3 May 2013 23:12 (thirteen years ago)
mirrors is one of the best songs of the year imo. i think i might prefer the radio edit because the last minute or two of the full version is a bit tedious.
― rock 'em sock 'em (Treeship), Saturday, 4 May 2013 15:18 (thirteen years ago)
horrible song. weak album. trinidad james had more staying power
― rap steve gadd (D-40), Saturday, 4 May 2013 22:02 (thirteen years ago)
lol otm
― Ship Lion (some dude), Saturday, 4 May 2013 22:37 (thirteen years ago)
i like "pusher love girl" a lot, though, has sounded good on the radio w/ the 2nd half cut off
i didn't know that was the next single! i liked the song when i heard the album, interested to hear what the edit sounds like
― dyl, Sunday, 5 May 2013 02:11 (thirteen years ago)
i dunno if the label will be officially working it (maybe just to urban radio?) or if a local station just picked it up. they just stop it at the obvious point where the 'outro' starts.
― Ship Lion (some dude), Sunday, 5 May 2013 02:17 (thirteen years ago)
"Mirrors" is moving up the charts. Wonder if payola still works its mojo.
― A deeper shade of lol (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Sunday, 5 May 2013 02:23 (thirteen years ago)

yeah this campaign has not required payola, ppl are responding to it way more than i would have ever thought possible, esp. in terms of sales
― dyl, Sunday, 5 May 2013 04:55 (thirteen years ago)

o had no idea it was going to be a double album! that's pretty hot. he's gettin at my hearstrings with the #tennessee shit but i hope we get a little more variety than That Girl
― surm, Sunday, 5 May 2013 21:21 (thirteen years ago)
no guitarist myself, but that doesn't look any different from how i've seen anyone else hold a guitar?
― Fred by Durst (The Reverend), Monday, 6 May 2013 04:40 (thirteen years ago)
