itunes is making it really difficult to get this!
― marc iv, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:00 (thirteen years ago)
Amazon has it.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:01 (thirteen years ago)
On repeat.
― Popture, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:04 (thirteen years ago)
LIKE THE LEGEND OF THE PHOENIX
― crüt, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:05 (thirteen years ago)
ugh nvm i am denied on itunes and amazon because i'm in canada.
maybe i will just listen to the track *we* leaked you robot bastards.
― marc iv, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:07 (thirteen years ago)
noticeably fuller-sounding than the leaked version on my headphones
― crüt, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:09 (thirteen years ago)
So has this been officially released already? Any changes for the leaked version?
― Moka, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:19 (thirteen years ago)
just purchased. still sucks.
― the late great, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:20 (thirteen years ago)
ok it's not THAT bad but it's worthy of about 1/1000th the hype. "legend of the phoenix" is kind of brilliant though.
― the late great, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:24 (thirteen years ago)
i think it's fantastic
― bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Friday, 19 April 2013 05:24 (thirteen years ago)
As many times as I've listened to snippets, fanmade composites, the 128k leak and now the higher quality version, I'm still not even the slightest bit sick of it. Don't imagine I will be any time soon. So yes, it doesn't suck.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:28 (thirteen years ago)

Welcome to the 21st Century.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:55 (thirteen years ago)
i find this immediately appealing in the same way i do an ice-cream truck jingle. it's catchy, perfect, incredibly boring and not because of such - it's just pastiche and provides nothing in innovative qualities.
― kelpolaris, Friday, 19 April 2013 05:56 (thirteen years ago)
i like this
didn't hear any of the fakes or w/e, but listening to the official itunes one with nice headphones and it sounds real nice
― well if it isn't old 11 cameras simon (gbx), Friday, 19 April 2013 05:59 (thirteen years ago)
Our neigbourhood ice-cream truck only serves ice cream with innovative qualities.
― abcfsk, Friday, 19 April 2013 06:01 (thirteen years ago)
there is this super cool subtle guitar sound when Nile goes from the D5 to the F#m7, like a pinky drag across the fret on the b-string...
sounds like it might be processed a little?
― Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Friday, 19 April 2013 06:03 (thirteen years ago)
or doubled with the rhodes? I only hear it during the breakdown.
― Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Friday, 19 April 2013 06:06 (thirteen years ago)
i listened like 5 different versions of 'get lucky' in the last half hour. wtf?
― cock chirea, Friday, 19 April 2013 06:12 (thirteen years ago)

"provides nothing in innovative qualities."
people sound like such fucking nerds when they say stuff like this. since when is music required to be "innovative" and since when should that be evident w/in 2 hours of a piece of music being released?
― flesh, the devil, and a wolf (wolf) (amateurist), Friday, 19 April 2013 06:50 (thirteen years ago)
reminds me of
"It's practically brainwashing, isn't it? Daft Punk seem to be operating under the premise that if you hear something enough times, you'll start to believe it. But after more than 15 listens to Discovery's first single and opening track, "One More Time," vocodered vocalist Romanthony doesn't have me "feeling the need," much less not waiting, celebrating, and dancing so free. This could just be me, of course. Maybe I just haven't taken enough ecstasy and horse tranquilizers to appreciate the tinny, sampled brass ensemble, the too-sincere "chill out" midsection, or the fat drum machine beats that throb in time with my headache."
― anonanon, Friday, 19 April 2013 07:00 (thirteen years ago)
i used to hate 'one more time'

so when Daft Punk sits down with Niles Rogers to talk.. or share a meal, do they keep the helmets on? Is this one of those things where they never break character like Alf?
― sanskrit, Friday, 19 April 2013 07:53 (thirteen years ago)
Nile

Interesting interview... Oddly enough they mention their track with panda bear as the only "electronic" song n this album.
I have to sleep, if I have time ill do a translation tomorrow for you guys.

uh oh
― ice cr?mated (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 19 April 2013 08:27 (thirteen years ago)
Haha you would be totally vibing out to it if it didn't have the words 'Daft Punk' attached to it.
― Matt DC, Friday, 19 April 2013 08:34 (thirteen years ago)
is there a reason this has 900 new answers pre-release btw? i have literally paid NO attention to it
― flamenco drop (lex pretend), Friday, 19 April 2013 08:34 (thirteen years ago)
It HBFS vocoders over a classic Chic groove. That's good enough for any summer.
― Me So Hormetic (Sanpaku), Friday, 19 April 2013 08:34 (thirteen years ago)
it's not objectionable or anything it's just kinda dull. people are going nuts over this because...
― flamenco drop (lex pretend), Friday, 19 April 2013 08:35 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah that's the thing, if it were just put out by some other nu-disco producer then it wouldn't have the thousand-post thread and the hysteria. But it's a lot better than that, and not every jobbing nu-disco producer can get Nile Rodgers on a track.
― Matt DC, Friday, 19 April 2013 08:37 (thirteen years ago)
It's about:
300 posts of people handwringing about Julian Casablancas/Pharrell/Panda Bear200 posts of people posting "we're up all night to get lucky" over and over again400 posts of people torturously debating whether or not the track is fake
― Matt DC, Friday, 19 April 2013 08:39 (thirteen years ago)
+ 1 zillion posts of pharrell_otm.gif
― Clay, Friday, 19 April 2013 08:40 (thirteen years ago)

+ loads and loads of 'daft punk is/is not equal to the following bands'
― ice cr?mated (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 19 April 2013 08:41 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah that's the thing, if it were just put out by some other nu-disco producer then it wouldn't have the thousand-post thread and the hysteria. But it's a lot better than that
there's a ton of jobbing nu-disco around right now that's better than this, even minor stuff! and would you know it was nile rodgers if you hadn't been told?
300 posts of people handwringing about Julian Casablancas/Pharrell/Panda Bear
i didn't know about the first or third person. lollllllllllllllllllllllll my briefly flickering interest has been 100% extinguished. ENJOY YR MEDIOCRE MUSIC EVERYONE
