Like forks said I have everything as well but would be cool with random stuff. Kinda doubt it tho and just think it will be studio lp's. This isn't really for me tho I'm more excited to spread the word and just think its cool for them to do this.

This is basically the opportunity for me to go back and plug holes in my collection since there are a couple of albums I never had my own copies of (3 Feet and Buhloone in particular)

I vividly remember the spring of 1989. I was on a trip to colonial Williamsburg, and there was a freak blizzard that dumped something like two feet of snow, shutting down the park and basically relegating us to the hotel room, where I mostly plopped in front of MTV, which I did not have at home. I knew that New Kids on the Block was absolutely not for me, that much was certain; "Hangin' Tough" was in circulation. But at the same time, I remember seeing the "Potholes in my Lawn" video a few times, and feeling like I wasn't quite ready for that, either. I think I was in middle school classic rock mode. Obviously I caught up to De La Soul, big time.

is the grind date really underrated? this thread took me to it, as its the only album of theirs on spotify. it's really great and largely passed me by.

The Grind Date is underrated in the sense that De La had passed out of the mainstream by the time it was released; to my knowledge, the fans who still actively follow the group love it to pieces

i dont remember it except thinking that it was a good album for that point in their careers. really solid stuff, better beats than some of their stuff prior to that, etc. i liked the impossible mission mix cd thing they put out. the album they did a few years back under an alias, without maseo too, though i dont remember the name.

cot dam, this thing is up to $350k! this may be the best funded De La album ever.

xpost Feel like The Grind Date was fairly acclaimed at the time, seen as a return to form after the AOI records. It was #31 on the pitchfork EOY list. It also came out right before the sea change in rap coverage in rock/indie/mainstream critical outlets, so that probably influences reputation/legacy.

Like in 2004 the top rap albums on Pitchfork's EOY were The Streets, Madvillain, Ghostface, Dizzee Rascal, Kanye, and De La Soul. And in 2005 they were Kanye, Cam'ron, Clipse, Beanie Siegel, The Game, Young Jeezy.

As our September delivery date has long come and gone, we'd like to address the delay, the plan moving forward and the expected release date of our album.
Releasing a record independently has been a real undertaking. In addition to artistic satisfaction, the administrative and executive end had to feel right as well. Side artist clearances and appropriating the best distribution for this project has been just as important. With negotiations complete, we are now working on the plan for our awaited release. Thank you all for your patience.
In late December we'll hit you with a treat and release a song entitled "Train Wreck" followed by our first single "Pain" feat. Snoop Dogg, slated for February/March. Album release date is April 29th.
We'll be sure to keep you posted on our progress.
