Well, no, not joking. I kinda suspicious this is prolly fake but at the creators video (around min 10:45) he jams to a a song that he refers to as "the song of the summer" and it doesnt sound like get lucky. Im guessing is another one.... Could be this one if real.
Either way it sounds cool, would love to know who this is, if fake.

Can't believe that 100-seconds of song on a festival screen filmed by some dude is FUCKING GREAT.
― Hurry Up, Tell 'Em They're Dreaming (King Boy Pato), Sunday, 14 April 2013 06:57 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah, it sounds okay to me. Can't say if it is or isn't one of the other tracks on the album.
I remember when fakes for Human After All started moving around the internet, one of them was really good (not "Rocker"). I never did find out what it was.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 14 April 2013 06:58 (thirteen years ago)
this sounds like it took 5 mins to make. they'd chop nile's guitar to buggery like that? lol. that looped bassline figure? they don't do that. hugely compressed horrible horrible sounding bassline drowning everything out. those awfully programmed drums with those lol swooshes and that out of tune vocal snippet. pff.

I think the last album I was this hyped to hear was Born This Way, and, though other people had problems with it, I wasn't disappointed with it as an album. Some tracks were clunkers, but even the clunkers demanded my attention. I developed a relationship with that album, for better or worse, and still play it on a regular basis. What I'm saying is, even if the 1:42 of "Get Lucky" we've heard turns out to be the finest part of Random Access Memories, I'm so invested in digging deep into this album now that I can't imagine considering it a disappointment no matter what it sounds like.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 14 April 2013 07:43 (thirteen years ago)
Last album that made me eager to hear it was king of limbs and that was only for 10 days. Idk if ill be able to save the hype for this one over a month.
― Moka, Sunday, 14 April 2013 07:52 (thirteen years ago)
the big leaps in the melody and how the harmonies build up through the verse remind me of michael mcdonald a little bit, prob just thinking that cuz of the hype but w/e.
wonder what they've done with the strokes guy, hope it's a ballad with nods to wicked game- can kind of see that working.
― Crackle Box, Sunday, 14 April 2013 07:57 (thirteen years ago)
Casablancas sings every song like a ballad, regardless of tempo.

Late era MJ would have made a dog's dinner of this, you want late 70s MJ really.
Thing about this clip, amazing as it is, is that for a while it doesn't actually sound like Daft Punk at all - it could easily be a Nile Rodgers + Pharrell collab, and then the vocoders come in and it's like coming home.
― Matt DC, Sunday, 14 April 2013 11:47 (thirteen years ago)
looking forward to HBFS/technologic all-vocoder fan edit versions

Don't think I've listened to a one minute song snippet so many times - it's almost as nourishing as the full thing!

Ha xp, was thinking earlier about how the Beatles debuted Sgt Pepper in the same way the morning they finished it; only it was across Chelsea rooftops and not a lake.

One awesome thing about that Rolling Stone article, it makes it pretty clear that the band (if not the label) is specifically counting on iPhone users posting stuff on the Internet to promote the record virally. That bodes well, if the labels recognize this, for people being the maintain their rights to record video at concerts -- the banning of which via geocoding has been discussed among RIAA types.

no musical idea this year is better designed to push every ILM erogenous zone (though I doubt lol Pharrell has a constituency left).

When did everyone start shitting on Pharrell? I know his output hasn't been fantastic as of late, but did he devour babies at some point? Judging from some of the comments on various forums, some people either think he's Usher and Daft Punk have somehow 'sold-out', or they're requesting edits without him on it. Weird.
― Cousin Slappy, Sunday, 14 April 2013 15:35 (thirteen years ago)
I'd like to believe that if MJ was still with us today he would be the one singing lead on Get Luckyhe probably wouldn't have agreed to it, but either way, i'm now bummed wondering about the idea.

no hate on Pharrell specifically.. at all
disappointment in Daft punk
aerodynamic is a stone cold masterpiece, would putting pharrell doing a verse on it improve it?

Pharrell sounds great on this and the jaded eyerolling is nagl.
― Matt DC, Sunday, 14 April 2013 16:45 (thirteen years ago)
In fact it's Pharrell that makes it great.
― Matt DC, Sunday, 14 April 2013 16:48 (thirteen years ago)
the only thing nagl is the fact that aerodynamic, digital love, crescendolls and other classics deserve better than that flaccidity
its called standards yo. some things are better than others, unles you don't agree that those tracks are higher level than your average music. if you think pharrell is already on the same level as daft punk than i can understand how that would work in your mindanywaystill excited: obviously
― dojo, Sunday, 14 April 2013 16:49 (thirteen years ago)
You are of course aware that Pharrell doesn't actually feature on any of those songs, right?

― cozen, Sunday, 14 April 2013 16:59 (thirteen years ago)
Pharrell is just a turn off for me personally, and I think a lot of people feel that way. I feel the same way about Julian Casablancas but we haven't heard any of that track so I'll reserve judgment. I just think it's a bad move to bring in strong/divisive personalities as collaborators - especially on vocals, where personality/style is so up front. Obviously a lot of prejudices coming to the table but I'm none too happy that my first listen to a real new Daft Punk song involved a healthy dose of "Skateboard P."

pharrell/casablancas are "divisive personalities" on ilm and ilm alone, to every normal person in the world they are just popular music artists
i have a standard it's call does this sound like an awesome daft punk song
