Get Lucky sounds like a summer anthem for sure — — — — those hi-hats when the vocoder comes in?! Dayum!

When all this album talk started bubbling up, and when the SNL appeared with the snippet of music, I was all WAH WHY THE LONG WAIT but now I think scheduling the release for the latter part of May is ideal. I wanna kick off my summer with this thing.

I think they're being savvy about building up hype enough to ensure big first week sales.

They sort of feel like the biggest band in the world right now. I know they aren't, but maybe they should be.

when I heard the bit of this lucky song on the advert a while ago with the vocoder bit I thought he was singing funky and now it becomes clear he's singing lucky and I am not buying this record

the snippet of the video with pharrell and nile is refreshingly atypical of 2013 music video look/feel

Nile listening to the track on hps is pretty genius. The whole campaign seems scripted like clockwork. Can't wait to see how it progresses from now on

there is something about the unexpected shot of pharrell, centre-stage, smiling, that reminds me of the crash zoom into leonardo dicaprio's face in the django unchanged trailer. it works out really well though. he flexes into the shape of disco vocalist very smoothly.

so the album cut of this is gonna be 6 minutes long; I can dig it.

it is entirely made of clips filmed by the crowd's handheld devices. it sounds good, looks a bit worse than the concept on paper but i liked it. one great bit: at one point, part of the crowd were making pyramid signs with both hands in the air.

Everything's lined up almost too perfectly... This could very well be the case within a few months.

FWIW. I mean, for all I know Skrillex is the biggest band in the world, but I don't know what the even means anymore. I guess it can be gauged by how many people it can attract to a live show?
