"young volcanoes" is so good, i hear so many singles on this record

my girlfriend likened "young volcanoes" to train which has momentarily ruined the song for me

like they wrote a track called "save rock and roll" and not only got elton john to sing on it but also had him sing one of their old lines

Not sure if this is outside the scope of the conversation, but has anybody written anything about how FOB became such a critically respected, "important" band? I don't really understand that POV, but I'm interesting in learning how the consensus changed so drastically

i think the biggest roadblock for me w/ this record is how much i loved Stump's solo album and his lyric writing that going back to hearing him as the mouthpiece for rmde Wentz witticisms feels like a downgrade

Just interviewed Messrs Stump and Wentz for a podcast. Not a band I've ever taken much notice of, but genuinely delightful interviewees.

man, i wish i had your problems. i tried so damn hard with stump solo, really i did. wanted to love it, but could barely manage grudging respect. glad to see FOB back together.

there are ways in which the instrumentation/production doesn't remotely measure up to the band's, but as a showcase for his songwriting/vocals i thought it was pretty stellar.

yeah i like how the album is musically very Prince and vocally very MJ.

They told me this album was much more stripped down and simple than they had originally intended. I said that if this was what stripped back sounded like, God only knows what over the top would have sounded like. They said: like white noise.

Actually I've been so intensely reminded of my love of both bands this week that I suddenly feel inspired to hear all the emo-crossover I never checked out before (Say Anything etc.)

oh man Say Anything Is A Real Boy is still my fav major label emo album of them all
