i'm so psyched that this is dropping in time for summer. looking forward to hearing oo-oo-ah-ahh-ahh-uh-get-a-luuuucky in every bodega, store, street, and car.

otm about the creators project, but i totally think releasing only small loopable bits from the album is pretty clever viral marketing

i think daft punk are 'leveraging social media'

xp to gr8080: I get where you're coming from but I think they're doing a service to their aesthetic vision for this album and to our broader musical culture by explicitly tying the personal memories of disco forefathers to their mass marketing campaign. I am normally way cynical about this sort of thing though. I think it's just because I've grown to really love & trust Daft Punk that I am giving them a pass.

p interesting after reading this 2 days ago:

Also I'd rather hear it about disco and all that rather than yet another fucking rock band.

i think daft punk are 'leveraging social media'

allow me to blow your mind: each person that retweets or re-facebooks or "plus 1s" a facetweet+ is potentially contributing to a "multiplier effect"

i'd listen to the boss talk for 8mins about farting but thats just me

omg moroder briefly singing "one more time" is the best thing

乒乓, Wednesday, 3 April 2013 19:12 (thirteen years ago)

2 Chronicles 14:14: And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the Lord came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.

daft punk have played in many cities that are full of fearful people, spoiling everyone with their good time music, and many people after the concerts talk about how there was exceeding much spoil in them.

I predict a pitchfork score of 8.0

frogbs, Wednesday, 3 April 2013 19:41 (thirteen years ago)

this lead-up is going to be excruciating isn't it

Esteban Buttiérrez (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 3 April 2013 20:25 (thirteen years ago)

Nah if this is any good at all I predict way higher of a score.

i think one of the reasons i am amped for this is because it's gonna come out right before i have to drive across country for a move and i plan on blasting it basically non-stop

am I a complete dumbass for only noticing at the end of the Moroder video that the two clips previously released seem to be from the same song? I'm guessing yes.

Mr. Snrub, Thursday, 4 April 2013 02:44 (thirteen years ago)

haha man i hope nile is on every track he sounds great!

not getting the impression from the 30 secs or so we've heard and what moroder says that this will be going over old ground too much.

Crackle Box, Thursday, 4 April 2013 11:27 (thirteen years ago)

Even if RAM is meh, I will probably convince myself this is a great record given the (so far) great publicity campaign.
