yeah the album's marketing inspired my awe more than the album itself: a classic eighties blockbuster with many singles charting more than a year after release.

i think my general scepticism about JT projects despite the fact that i mostly love his music is pretty much down to the fact that he's really impressed with "classic" signifiers of artistry and really adept at marketing himself along those lines, and i couldn't care less - i have to ignore how he sells his albums, really.

god I even liked the Tiesto remix of "LoveStoned."

sure, but it doesn't really matter either way (nb: i haven't heard the new album yet). "lovestoned" and "what goes around" didn't suffer for their length

"Mirrors" tries for the same synactic and thematic leap as "Lovestoned" but sounds malnourished and even sloppy, like he and Timbaland Had Ideas but no song.

btw "Take Me Now" is a classic wtf jukebox delight.

decided to listen to this again, never not gonna grimace at the intro of "suit and tie" and the awkward juxtaposition of "shit tie shit tie"

but dang "pusher love girl" is strong

I don't know if I like That Girl or like its signifiers.

OK, I feel like an idiot. How do I listen to this thing? I followed links to iTunes, but it just opens up a page that says JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE next to a photo of JT, and there's nothing to click on.

Actually it wasn't working on my desktop computer (not sure what the issue is -- I just upgraded last week), but I see it is working on my iPad.
