i'm okay with "suit & tie" being a very good robin thicke song... i have enough room in my life for that. i definitely don't think that thicke -- as much as i like his stuff -- is on timberlake's level as an overall artist tho

on another note, I just realized the other day how much I love "All Tied Up"

Love After War (ping pong take note) is def his weakest album other than maybe the first tho, which I've never heard. Something Else is his best altho The Evolution of Robin Thicke is maybe his most definitive

The idea of Timberlake being a distinct step up from Thicke doesn't really wash with me. Timberlake is the better entertainer and is infectiously charming but Thicke is the superior vocalist and has a better grasp on the sensuous.

thicke has some jams and his albums are all very solid and he's definitely underrated in a general sense, but dude's not holding a candle to FS/LS or the singles off 'justified'

Strawberry Bubblegum is really lush.

"strawberry bubblegum" surprisingly kinda lives up to its title

"don't hold the wall" is ugly as hell though

Let The Groove Get In is kind of a welcome shot into the arm after the stretch from Tunnel Vision to That Girl had me ready to take a small nap.

i've been wondering if FS/LS has gotten a bit too revered as everyone has waited for a new album. i mean that album is hot but it's not, you know, thriller or some shit. which is basically what this album would have to be for anyone to consider it better than FS/LS.

i'm getting this too, in light of this it seems really weird that the entire pre-release angle has been "JT rekindles his love affair with music" when framing it as a love album about a person is a more attractive proposition
