Clairvoyance tells me "Beautiful Stranger" got at least one #1, so I see good things ahead. My favorites today: "Don't Tell Me," "Bad Girl," "Oh Father." The appeal escapes me: "Like a Virgin," "La Isla Bonita."

i love la isla bonita but yeah the chorus is sortof a letdown

so is there any chance that that song, which is top 10-ish for me, shows up somewhere in the top 20? my gut says no, but the rest of me has been pleasingly perplexed throughout this thread and therefore can't quite figure.

I love the chorus to La Isla Bonita! Those backing vocals that chime in right after Madonna's lead and the harmony on the title... Makes me mswoon. Wasn't on my ballot, but I think the chorus is the best part of that song. Well maybe the bridge.

Listened to Miles Davis' Dark Magus yesterday, on which Reggie Lucas is one of the guitarists. Followed it up with Madonna (first ever listen), was reminded of how much I love "Borderline"...which was written and produced by Reggie Lucas. And the Miles Davis poll is next. It's all a rich tapestry.
