I think the writing on the cover already is a font. They try to hide it by putting a different "n" in the word "Young", but other than that, all the recurring letters are identical.

Clapton missed a golden opportunity to make the "L"s in the title little pictures of old socks. He still would suck to death.

the clapton cover is easily the more "I straight do not give a fuck how this looks" in every way - Neil's goin' for something, knows what it is, gets it. Clapton has reached a point of not caring. Neil's is old dude IDGAF swagger. Clapton's is an old dude who does not give a fuck.

that said, yes, "old sock" is a truly incredible album title choice and taken together with that cover should be respected
