I actually have thought about this more than I care to admit. Esp in re: Ned, who I assume will not be able to resist giving as-it-happens responses, which I think are basically the enemy of listening, but which are also kind of a reality of listening now.
i always assumed ned would press a big red button and and out would roll an all-senses-minus-hearing-desensory tank, never used, in storage for 22 years, ready for the moment
