FWIW, pretty sure Feist plays smaller theatres in Chicago than B&S does.

Though B&S tours a fractions as much, so it's hard to say if they sell out bigger places due to pent up demand or what.

Fwiw, the last two times Feist has played a theater in Chicago it has been at the 2,500 capacity Riveria. B&S's most recent appearance was at the 3,600 capacity Chicago Theater (they played the Riv in 2006).

The last time R. Kelly played, about a month ago, it was at the shit-ass Arie Crown, and it involved women in cages, iirc.

Also iirc, the last time Feist played here, beside the fork fest, was in 2011, at the Riv. I want to say before that it was the Vic, both smaller than B&S, who last played the Chi Theatre, preceded by the Riv, but before that I want to say the Congress. They really haven't played Chicago much, but neither has Feist, I don't think.

Have you ever seen Belle and Sebastian live?

I'm excited about these headliners b/c I'm guessing they'll all be really great *entertainers* in a live festival setting. More so, for instance, than Animal Collective or Vampire Weekend or the National.

In 2003 they headlined the Congress, which is about the same capacity as the Chicago Theater.

I think the big dif from Feist is that B&S have fans who would fly to see them. Maybe Bjork, too, if she is not doing an extensive tour, but B&S for sure. They really don't play much.

The fact that B&S aren't supporting an album is probably best for everyone. Going to a B&S concert is basically wishing they play as many mid-90s songs as possible.

i'd be interested in seeing video of belle + sebastian at p4k. when i saw them (battery park) they were pretty snoozy i thought. but they played some songs i liked and it was nice to sit in a park.

B&S are the ultimate "nice to sit in the park" act. R. Kelly is not, so it will be funny watching perform for people sitting in a park.
