that Tv On the Radio thing is actually really nice. I would never have bothered to listen to them, only knew that Staring at the Sun song before and a girl I used to live with decided they were cool and was really into them.

Plaxico (I know, right?), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:30 (seventeen years ago)

their 1st EP and Album are excellent. Otherwise..... (though 'Family Tree' is nice)

The Brainwasher, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:31 (seventeen years ago)

I think I voted for the Portishead track

Boring Sign In Name (Herman G. Neuname), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:32 (seventeen years ago)

Actually, listening to it now, it's really really quite a beautiful song, if maybe a LITTLE peremptory for my personal inclinations.

Brainwasher, I'd say the 2nd album actually has some really good songs, and is better than the 1st (if not the EP).

Robin van Injury (country matters), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:32 (seventeen years ago)

o_O & "The Rip" with placing so high, esp. above "Machine Gun," but I'll take it!

Ricky Apples (Pillbox), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:32 (seventeen years ago)

(it being The Rip)

Robin van Injury (country matters), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:32 (seventeen years ago)

ok, yeah, this is sounding so beautiful on these headphones...

Someone Still Loves You Evan and Jaron (Tape Store), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:33 (seventeen years ago)

Its sorta like the boy version of that Scarlett Johannson album,

joeks, although I really loved that album.

Plaxico (I know, right?), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:33 (seventeen years ago)

I can't really fault The Rip placing in the top five, although I completely overlooked it as well. Just listened to it again and it is beyond gorgeous.

Holy Suffering Gobi Desert Clit Nun (Matt DC), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:35 (seventeen years ago)

Scarlett album better place...

Someone Still Loves You Evan and Jaron (Tape Store), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:36 (seventeen years ago)

I think The Rip becomes even more stunning if you haven't heard it for a while, as a few of us have just discovered.

Robin van Injury (country matters), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:37 (seventeen years ago)

so the portishead album is gonna be number one then

Plaxico (I know, right?), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:39 (seventeen years ago)

no new amerykah is

The Brainwasher, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:39 (seventeen years ago)

If I'd thought about this tactically, I'd have put Third wayyyy higher up my poll tbh

Robin van Injury (country matters), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:40 (seventeen years ago)

If The-Dream is number one, ILX has my heart

Someone Still Loves You Evan and Jaron (Tape Store), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:40 (seventeen years ago)

ha, it might place depending on who voted

your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:41 (seventeen years ago)

Yes, that's quite beautiful. I'm surprised it placed so high, it's not the kind of track you usually get a consensus around.

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:42 (seventeen years ago)

my ballot even

Robin van Injury (country matters), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:42 (seventeen years ago)

I've never heard the portishead album

Plaxico (I know, right?), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:42 (seventeen years ago)

I forgot to vote

The Brainwasher, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:43 (seventeen years ago)

i always forget that people liked other songs on that album more than 'machine gun'

call all destroyer, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:43 (seventeen years ago)

musically can i still vote plz

The Brainwasher, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:43 (seventeen years ago)

yes, yes, yes, Brainwasher should vote!

Someone Still Loves You Evan and Jaron (Tape Store), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:44 (seventeen years ago)

you always forget to vote

danzig, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:44 (seventeen years ago)

lol @ Brainwasher not voting but thinking "Damaged" could still place

some dude, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:45 (seventeen years ago)

The-Dream will place, I can feel it.

lou, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:45 (seventeen years ago)

hold on - place in singles????

your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:46 (seventeen years ago)

Albums.

lou, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:46 (seventeen years ago)

oh

your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:46 (seventeen years ago)

not even nommed in the singles although I would've given Falsetto a very high vote if it were.

danzig, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:47 (seventeen years ago)

oh, there's no doubt it will PLACE in albums, i just want it top ten.

Someone Still Loves You Evan and Jaron (Tape Store), Friday, 6 February 2009 21:47 (seventeen years ago)

I'm liking The Rip more on each run through. Also, I can't think of anything else to compare it to. I'm hearing snatches of Joan Baez, Kraftwerk and Philip Glass in there, but it's not exactly derivative

Ismael Klata, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:49 (seventeen years ago)

It sounds like Broadcast

The Brainwasher, Friday, 6 February 2009 21:50 (seventeen years ago)

and Neu

lil waynes babymama (musically), Friday, 6 February 2009 22:01 (seventeen years ago)

note = vote

lil waynes babymama (musically), Friday, 6 February 2009 22:01 (seventeen years ago)

Was "Shawty Is Da Sh*!" nominated, or is that considered 2007?

Dan S, Friday, 6 February 2009 22:01 (seventeen years ago)

it is super duper 2007

some dude, Friday, 6 February 2009 22:02 (seventeen years ago)

lil waynes babymama (musically), Friday, 6 February 2009 22:07 (seventeen years ago)

swagger like us? wtf

― your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, February 6, 2009 3:01 PM

here's a tip for all you miss cleos out there: predict songs for the top 5 that people actually like

― your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, February 6, 2009 3:01 PM

Huh? Wait, what did you say? Whaaaaat? Speak up!

i feel like ilm consensus stuff is gonna get beat out by lurkers voting in bon iver

― your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, February 6, 2009 12:44 PM

and im not using bon iver as a strawman either - im pretty sure every song from his album was nominated

― your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, February 6, 2009 12:45 PM

guys there is gonna be a bon iver track in the top 5 probably 3. every single one of his songs was nominated

― your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, February 6, 2009 2:33 PM

btw i mean there is gonna be a bon iver in the top 5 probably top 3, not 3 bon iver tracks in the top 5

― your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Friday, February 6, 2009 2:33 PM

Oh, sorry Miss Cleo, I couldn't hear you over all the Bon Iver predictions you were tossing out a few hours ago. So sorry about that...

ilxor, Friday, 6 February 2009 22:07 (seventeen years ago)

so basically people are voting for the aeroplane remix rite? because the original.............

The Brainwasher, Friday, 6 February 2009 22:10 (seventeen years ago)

omg im so smart

rent, Friday, 6 February 2009 22:10 (seventeen years ago)

the breakdown's there bw

rent, Friday, 6 February 2009 22:13 (seventeen years ago)

Blind, Happy House, Paper Planes?

Plaxico (I know, right?), Friday, 6 February 2009 22:17 (seventeen years ago)

I'm listening to the Aeroplane version of Paris for the first time and loving it but... this is more of a cover version than a remix isn't it?

. (a hoy hoy), Friday, 6 February 2009 22:18 (seventeen years ago)

dull as dishwater

whatever, Friday, 6 February 2009 22:19 (seventeen years ago)

Did most of the people who voted the original really mean the remix. I heard it for the first time yesterday after playing the remix to death. It really is a pile of shit though.

Plaxico (I know, right?), Friday, 6 February 2009 22:20 (seventeen years ago)

I actually prefer the original, but I like busy percussion.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 6 February 2009 22:21 (seventeen years ago)

I like this, never crossed my mind to vote for it, though. Sounds a bit like Sophie Ellis Bextor to mine ears
