:D well done

Differ of Narcissus (The Reverend), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:53 (thirteen years ago)

Should I post them together? I don't mean right this minute. But when I do...
Yes, pl. Unless Kaputt has won again, in which case you can stop right now ;)

Jeff W, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:53 (thirteen years ago)

Still holding out hope my #1 vote for Gordo Tacqueria has been given disproportionate weight.

xpost Amazing.

etc, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:53 (thirteen years ago)

haaaa i should have done Kaputt as a fake #2, shit!

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)

I like Talabot but prefer Blondes tbh, never quite clicked for me.

Based on skim listens, this is otm.

xyzzzz__, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)

gr8080 I almost made that exact joke graphic, but ran out of time. Glad you read my mind!

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)

i'd be cool with kaputt as #1

ciderpress, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)

i actually considered the possibility that you would be considering the same move, based on your posts on that thread :D

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:55 (thirteen years ago)

The Lumineers was going to be my fake #2.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:55 (thirteen years ago)

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:57 (thirteen years ago)

my dick in first place, put my dick in first place

Jaap and roids (NickB), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:58 (thirteen years ago)

Morbs what are your thoughts on the Miguel album? Do you think it should win?

:C (crüt), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:58 (thirteen years ago)

maybe i went in to fin with too many expectations of what it was going to be

once i gave it some distance i was able to love it for what it is

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:58 (thirteen years ago)

The melodic austerity and purposeful restriction of sound palette on Fin meant that while I always liked it I could never love it in the way I do some of his remixes. I wish he'd leavened it with a couple of sun-coming-up beach rave tracks like his Teengirl Fantasy/XX/Chairlift remixes. Still a really strong album but it's like dance music for giant Easter Island heads or something.

Matt DC, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:59 (thirteen years ago)

xp remember you saying it wasn't sunny enough or something

flopson, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:59 (thirteen years ago)

i'd still pay a mint for a talabot remix collection

d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:59 (thirteen years ago)

Still, I like everything in the top five this year so I can't really complain.

Matt DC, Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:00 (thirteen years ago)

if "last land" and "h.o.r.s.e." aren't sun-coming-up anthems i don't know what are

the little prince of inane false binary hype (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:01 (thirteen years ago)

lex pretend, Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:01 (thirteen years ago)

Simon H., Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:01 (thirteen years ago)

Armor On is too low imo; its more of a piece than most concept albums. Its not just thatthe pacing is exquisitely calibrated but that along with the extended battle tropes never fails to imply a higher form of songwriting, music as a higher calling. Intensely visionary stuff

Multixps

every dog latin has his day (Drugs A. Money), Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:02 (thirteen years ago)

"Adorn" still #1 in R&B airplay. If not for the absurd rule change, this would have been one of the longest running #1's on the R&B chart. As it is, we'll remember "Adorn" up there with the great R&B electroballads.

the little prince of inane false binary hype (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:02 (thirteen years ago)

Also Miguel was my #1 so fuck yeah. It's just such an accomplished and gorgeous and emotionally rewarding album on every level and his voice is just so fucking soulful.

Matt DC, Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:05 (thirteen years ago)
