when i flew back to chicago from miami in nov. i spent a good portion of the plane ride falling in and out of sleep while listening to the latest titus andronicus album, so you're probably right
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:47 (thirteen years ago)

― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:48 (thirteen years ago)

― flopson, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:49 (thirteen years ago)

― Ima R.A.E.D. (DJP), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:49 (thirteen years ago)
Woop! I love the John Talabot album. One of my happiest memories of the year was cycling up towards the house I lived in out in the countryside for six months on a glorious July evening with 'Missing You' pumping into my lugholes. Strangely I didn't recognise the track that made the tracks poll and I'm starting to think it didn't copy over to my iPhone properly.
― dog latin, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:49 (thirteen years ago)
i can't even sleep on a plane if i taking melatonin
if i push myself through when i'd naturally fall asleep, i can only ever get a couple of hours of sleep
talabot, you definitely shouldn't sleep to this. up all night dancing > sleep
― lex pretend, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:50 (thirteen years ago)
Should I post them together? I don't mean right this minute. But when I do...
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:50 (thirteen years ago)

― ciderpress, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:50 (thirteen years ago)

― ❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:51 (thirteen years ago)
<3 Armor On, lex OTM re: the "heaven" => "faith" => "scripture" section is hands down the finest bit of sequencing anywhere last year
I like Talabot but prefer Blondes tbh, never quite clicked for me.
― etc, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:51 (thirteen years ago)
JF - you did that w/the tracks no? Unless the top 2 aren't the top 2 everyone is expecting.
― xyzzzz__, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:51 (thirteen years ago)

― congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:52 (thirteen years ago)
sorta surprised talabot got no number one votes, has an album ever come this high without any #1s?
― lex pretend, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:52 (thirteen years ago)
It helps that Talabot was released right a the beginning of the year (which was otherwise a pretty stark time for me musicwise). It's been with me all year, slowly and warmly growing over me.
― dog latin, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:52 (thirteen years ago)
Both on my ballot but I liked kendrick record more than miguel.
― pandemic, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:52 (thirteen years ago)

Should I post them together? I don't mean right this minute. But when I do...Yes, pl. Unless Kaputt has won again, in which case you can stop right now ;)
― Jeff W, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:53 (thirteen years ago)
Still holding out hope my #1 vote for Gordo Tacqueria has been given disproportionate weight.
xpost Amazing.
― etc, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:53 (thirteen years ago)
haaaa i should have done Kaputt as a fake #2, shit!
― ❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)
Based on skim listens, this is otm.
― xyzzzz__, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)
gr8080 I almost made that exact joke graphic, but ran out of time. Glad you read my mind!
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)
i'd be cool with kaputt as #1
― ciderpress, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)
i actually considered the possibility that you would be considering the same move, based on your posts on that thread :D
― ❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:55 (thirteen years ago)
The Lumineers was going to be my fake #2.
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:55 (thirteen years ago)

― Jaap and roids (NickB), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:58 (thirteen years ago)
Morbs what are your thoughts on the Miguel album? Do you think it should win?
― :C (crüt), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:58 (thirteen years ago)
maybe i went in to fin with too many expectations of what it was going to be
once i gave it some distance i was able to love it for what it is
― ❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:58 (thirteen years ago)
The melodic austerity and purposeful restriction of sound palette on Fin meant that while I always liked it I could never love it in the way I do some of his remixes. I wish he'd leavened it with a couple of sun-coming-up beach rave tracks like his Teengirl Fantasy/XX/Chairlift remixes. Still a really strong album but it's like dance music for giant Easter Island heads or something.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:59 (thirteen years ago)
xp remember you saying it wasn't sunny enough or something
― flopson, Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:59 (thirteen years ago)
i'd still pay a mint for a talabot remix collection
― d'eejban (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 31 January 2013 19:59 (thirteen years ago)
Still, I like everything in the top five this year so I can't really complain.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:00 (thirteen years ago)
if "last land" and "h.o.r.s.e." aren't sun-coming-up anthems i don't know what are

i connect with talabot's own productions much more than his remixes, i find them much happier
― lex pretend, Thursday, 31 January 2013 20:01 (thirteen years ago)
