I can't see Goat beating Scott and Swans. I really can't.

Glad I got around to listening to The Seer before voting finished. It grabbed me straight away and went relatively high up on my list. Intense is right.

I couldn't see Farrah beating Carly Rae but here we are.

Swans, my #3 only knocked off the number 2 spot by Eyvind Kang in the final week of voting. It's totally epic. I never listened to this band before this album but for me it was instant. Don't know if It'll have quite the same effect in the summer, but for now it's sound tracking those long dark nights rather well and I can't wait to see them in Brighton in April.

Anyone else got the vinyl edition? I was kind of thrown by the alternate tracklisting. Mother of The World makes so much more sense as the second track; but on vinyl it's buried away on the third or fourth side. So wrong!

Goat is fantastic, was my P&J #1. Would've been my #1 here too if I'd have voted.

Goat at number 10? Hardcore! All is forgiven ILM :-) :-) although I don't think it's better than swans or Scott.

It really isn't metal. But I like the idea that the metal poll is open to heavy sounds in general, to be honest.

There's always a contingent for heavy rock that's more psych than metal.

This is one of the few records on the list that feels genuinely unique I think, I didn't vote for it but it's immense sounding.

Baroness not placing here but Farrah Abraham showing up at #17 (or w/e) is the "Adorn didn't win the tracks poll" of the 2012 albums poll.

Goat are one of those bands that aren't metal but for some reason (like Zombi) a huge percentage of their fans are metallers/stoner rockers.

I'm a little sad that it looks more and more like merchandise missed the list, I feel like there are a good number of people who would have dug it
