Yeah, but I'm not sure I understand why and when Sacred Bones decides to break with the house style. They're breaking it a little for the new Men record, but that one up there seems like a much better design to allow a break.

The Dilla cult is real but there's also a little bit of a Thomas theorem thing going on with all that. *skips over that mess*
I've liked pretty much everything I've heard from Darryl Reeves thus far (though not really familiar with the rest of the quartet), haven't come across any jazz oriented interpretations of Dilla (Besides the track Robert Glasper did last year). Thought I'd give it a go and it checks out. He has fun with it, none of it feels too derivative and at 26 minutes it doesn't come close to outstaying its welcome. Its refreshing and doesn't feel unnecessary or forced.
