almost pooped from the very real hilarity of this

i dig this new song, if it isn't a little flat. it mostly feels like the third, cast-off piece to what otherwise would've been the trilogy of repeat-based synth-driven songs "when you sleep" and "i only said"

The sound was pretty terrible last night. They got it right in the end but I was pretty much exhausted by volume to get too into it. I took "2-3 days" to be a joke. Seems to be Shields's stock answer these days. New LP after 20 years? Oh yeah, tomorrow mate.

One impression I got was how miserable 90% of the audience looked. I don't think I've been to a large gig for about four years (I prefer going to small gigs and clubs), but most people just seemed to be standing motionless with a blank expression - are they all like this these days, or is it just an MBV crowd.

Either he's a masochst or shields knows the overwhelming power of his ability to drive indie nerds fires alight with no more than a few syllables, utterances. Sometimes I imagine he totally regrets that single and only instance in which he promised there might be a new album.
