listening to it right now i'm convinced it must be one of the best songs of the last 10 years

fwiw 'return of the ankh' hit me way harder than 'nu amerykah' in general

None of those Cannabinoid uploads are new. They used to have another account or something. I think the newest thing - the Jaffe remix - is from September or October. The others are last spring or older.

idk, out my mind is still winning for me - looser, jazzier, weirder, more sublimely psychedelic, more flowed-together, more interesting tune(s)

but bear in mind i've heard omm(jit) upwards of 10x, and bear also the subjectivity of these things. also don't underestimate the 'first one heard preference' syndrome

Yeah, "I Want You" might be my favorite Erykah song.

Beyond structure and girth, there is a world of difference between "Green Eyes" and "Out My Mind." One is nostalgic/throwback to complement her romantic recidivism. The other is, as pointed out, fractured avant nonsense, the perfect accompaniment to her clearly premature optimism about walking away.

I think they're both great, tho, as is "I Want You."

I don't dislike anything she's done.

Except the Cannabinoids shit.

Ankh is def the FFF to 4th World War's Innervisions, but I still give the edge to 4WW.

I held to the line that Out My Mind was just a boring Green Eyes retread for a long time, until I heard LJ rhapsodizing about OMM on the 2010 tracks poll
