My Bloody Valentine have announced a London warm up show on 27th Jan at The Electric in Brixton, this date runs prior to their Asian dates in February. Tickets for this date are on sale now.

Er. I'm seeing this lot play out tonight. People are saying there might be some new songs.

I managed to get a couple of tickets on Friday night, so will be there. Personally I want them to only play new material, but knowing my luck it will all be old stuff.

Well. One new song and shit sound system. Enjoyed the classics, but really wanted more new songs.

I just assumed from Chewshabadoo's post that there was one new song and a shitty Operation Ivy cover.

Shields mumbled something about this week and the album, but the sounds was so muffled I couldn’t be sure. First song was new, rest were classics.

Re: new song, I couldn’t make out the vocals and major teething problems with sound on the first few tracks. Sounded average, but hopefully the recorded version will sound better.

yeah it's kinda weird to know what "good to go" means re: vinyl cause it either means SECRETLY PRESSED IN HUGE NUMBERS or else theoretically can be reproduced using melted plastic

i dig this new song, if it isn't a little flat. it mostly feels like the third, cast-off piece to what otherwise would've been the trilogy of repeat-based synth-driven songs "when you sleep" and "i only said"

The sound was pretty terrible last night. They got it right in the end but I was pretty much exhausted by volume to get too into it. I took "2-3 days" to be a joke. Seems to be Shields's stock answer these days. New LP after 20 years? Oh yeah, tomorrow mate.

One impression I got was how miserable 90% of the audience looked. I don't think I've been to a large gig for about four years (I prefer going to small gigs and clubs), but most people just seemed to be standing motionless with a blank expression - are they all like this these days, or is it just an MBV crowd.

Either he's a masochst or shields knows the overwhelming power of his ability to drive indie nerds fires alight with no more than a few syllables, utterances. Sometimes I imagine he totally regrets that single and only instance in which he promised there might be a new album.
