making my way through noz' eoy list, here's some boring notes on trax u already heard:
i'm not even sure i know why young scooter 'columbia' is awesome but goddamn it so is
omg young thug 'keep in touch' <3
chance the rapper 'juke juke' also <3, was this a hit, why not
alkopo don deserves his own thread
cousin fik 'knocka nigga down' http://i.imgur.com/ETMsa.gif
maybe kinda p much hate 'druggys with hoes again'
idk about 'bars' over 'val venis' on this list but king louie is a good-ass rapper no doubt
i'd deliberately ignored trina 'beam' til now but WAU this that og slip n slide shit
shame about lil reese cos 'haters' is an amazing beat
i can remember rocko's first album and big single (in idk what 2009) as a real "ok idgi anymore" moment for me personally but damn he's really come along since then. or was i just so wrong back then?
tree's tape should have appeared on way way way more eoy albums lists than it did, which was none iirc

this is amazing off the martorialist list
also the lolwut game/master p/premier joint
― r|t|c, Wednesday, 26 December 2012 14:23 (thirteen years ago)
young thug 'keep in touch' is in my top ten most played this year, awesome song. I liked p much all of vol2 but wasn't feeling vol 3 as much.
― pandemic, Wednesday, 26 December 2012 14:48 (thirteen years ago)
yeah vol2 has joints all over the place... vol3 is spotty but still has jams and it's just generally a blast to hear that guy rap
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2012 14:50 (thirteen years ago)
Tree 'Sunday School' is my favorite 2012 release.

Aye, good listicle.
That Ampichino & Young Bossi release has so many jams.
― small-scale fux with (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 20:05 (thirteen years ago)
the young thug song on noz's list definitely made me gasp in horror and be glad that i never subjected myself to a full tape of that guy
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 20:39 (thirteen years ago)
do/did you like this one tho?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soun_SQ3AT8
― small-scale fux with (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 20:46 (thirteen years ago)
sub-trinidad james tbh
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 20:55 (thirteen years ago)
hah, alright. you crazy
― small-scale fux with (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 21:06 (thirteen years ago)
ahah
― sisilafami, Wednesday, 26 December 2012 21:08 (thirteen years ago)
nah he's just never heard trinidad james iirc
― flopson, Wednesday, 26 December 2012 21:09 (thirteen years ago)
i hadn't heard him on day 5 of The Trinidad James Era but it's been a couple months since then, i have heard him now
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 21:21 (thirteen years ago)
i mean you can't really listen to the radio w/o hearing him at this point
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 21:43 (thirteen years ago)
that's a hot song
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2012 22:14 (thirteen years ago)
did you just endorse "all gold everything" or am i not following this conversation correctly
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 22:20 (thirteen years ago)
yeah i think that's a good single
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2012 22:26 (thirteen years ago)
nothing else he's done is even remotely good but i won't deny that "all gold everything" bangs
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2012 22:27 (thirteen years ago)
usually when someone who can barely rap gets hot off one song there's some good production involved but i don't fuck with that beat at all
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 22:32 (thirteen years ago)
oh yeah the beat is cool
― sisilafami, Wednesday, 26 December 2012 22:34 (thirteen years ago)
i think it's pretty dope... not an amazing beat but serviceable. that little raking noise is kinda cool. i actually think his rapping on that song are a big reason why the song works... i mean it's kinda crazy that dude has the hottest song in rap and the entire song is basically one long verse where he literally doesn't even rhyme. it's very post-lil b so i understand that it doesn't really crossover with the ship aesthetic.
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2012 22:39 (thirteen years ago)
i suppose it's too much to ask at this point that we not be little venn diagrams of taste profiles
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 23:31 (thirteen years ago)
although i do agree that it's interesting anytime a radio hit departs from the 16 bars/hook/16 bars/hook standard, seems to be happening more and more now
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 23:35 (thirteen years ago)
I don't really like TJ as a rapper, but the song works and the beat is good.

could assume that about probably 99% of music posted to this thread tho
― flopson, Thursday, 27 December 2012 02:30 (thirteen years ago)

i actually like bars mor than val venis as well
'keep in touch' is my shit btw honestly surprised ship doesnt like it its a pretty trad composition imo
my fav chance the rapper song is 'yolo'
― D-40, Thursday, 27 December 2012 05:51 (thirteen years ago)
the obviousness of the sample on 'juke juke' kept me from loving it altho i like what they do w/ the juke parts
― D-40, Thursday, 27 December 2012 06:05 (thirteen years ago)
i like some Rich Kidz songs, just got a bit much over the course of a whole tape imo. that one guy's voice especially.
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Thursday, 27 December 2012 15:20 (thirteen years ago)
stuff like Young Thug basically reminds me of when i used to listen to 150 Baltimore mixtapes a year and what the bottom 5% of that sounded like
― fanute me or shoot me (some dude), Thursday, 27 December 2012 15:25 (thirteen years ago)
did you like 'foreign' by him any more or are you not going on the whole thinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXiUBlPlRkQ
― D-40, Thursday, 27 December 2012 15:32 (thirteen years ago)
hadn't heard that one, better than the others i guess. i realize that "sounds like lil wayne" is a genre in 2012 but if you can't even rise to the standards of 2012 lil wayne then kill yourself imo.
