D-40, Tuesday, 18 December 2012 20:37 (thirteen years ago)

has anyone heard the new tip album? im overhearing it & it sounds pretty good

D-40, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 16:48 (thirteen years ago)

sounds pretty good to me so far but i would say that

some dude, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 17:25 (thirteen years ago)

Did you like 'Fuck Da City Up'?

pandemic, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 17:49 (thirteen years ago)

it sounded fine when i heard it but never felt any need to return to it, "Hot Wheels" aside

some dude, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 18:08 (thirteen years ago)

ha, p much my take as well.

pandemic, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 18:11 (thirteen years ago)

i didnt like 'fuck da city up' very much at all, agreed about hot wheels. also, the song 'harry potter' had a hot beat, but it was called harry potter, so

D-40, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 19:53 (thirteen years ago)

i've been hearing pop punk echoes in rap for years now

― tpp, Tuesday, 18 December 2012 12:52 (Yesterday) Bookmark

been thru the thread earlier and saw that this was true, my bad dude i hate when ppl do that to me

haha one personal reason i like this analogy is cos i know loads of britfolk irl who have this whole all-consuming youth upbringing in us pop punk (you know they do like retro nights at the alibi right?) and i'm always like wtf is this stuff when would anyone have ever heard it, it fits directly with the great nowadays niche disconnect between rap and the uk i occasionally like to speak of

r|t|c, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 20:26 (thirteen years ago)

might play some travis porter to the missus and test the theory out

r|t|c, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 20:28 (thirteen years ago)

there's some really bad stuff on the TI though

sisilafami, Wednesday, 19 December 2012 22:45 (thirteen years ago)

how have Travis Porter and Travis Barker not collaborated yet?

Rolling "2 chainz" draadje (The Reverend), Thursday, 20 December 2012 02:16 (thirteen years ago)

'cause travis barker is worse than cancer ?

sisilafami, Thursday, 20 December 2012 02:35 (thirteen years ago)

I'm not saying it should happen, just that it feels unlikely that it hasn't.

Rolling "2 chainz" draadje (The Reverend), Thursday, 20 December 2012 03:49 (thirteen years ago)

i wouldn't be surprised if Travis Porter was named after what they thought the drummer from Blink 182's name was

some dude, Thursday, 20 December 2012 03:51 (thirteen years ago)

im gonna go full markers in here if you guys keep shitting on travis barker

epic album: the pluto (Whiney G. Weingarten), Thursday, 20 December 2012 04:10 (thirteen years ago)

lol i listened to the TB album (AND his record w/ Yelawolf) and stan for dude as a drummer fwiw

some dude, Thursday, 20 December 2012 04:23 (thirteen years ago)

the t.i. album is depressingly purposeless

lex pretend, Thursday, 20 December 2012 14:23 (thirteen years ago)

kind of feel tip should be aiming for something slightly more satisfying than "it has its moments"

lex pretend, Thursday, 20 December 2012 14:24 (thirteen years ago)

yeah a serious sinking feeling accompanies the second half. there's been a weird obligatory air around the whole project though -- "i recorded 100 songs for this album but i don't really care anymore, just keeping it moving"

2 Celloz (some dude), Thursday, 20 December 2012 14:30 (thirteen years ago)

one of my make-a-wish foundation scenarios would be to actually A&R some of these albums where dudes make 100 songs and usually manage to pick all the wrong ones.

2 Celloz (some dude), Thursday, 20 December 2012 14:31 (thirteen years ago)

totally, it feels like he threw whatever on here and didn't even bother editing it down

oh my GOD is this akon singing elton john over ryan tedder drums? fux sake tip

lex pretend, Thursday, 20 December 2012 14:31 (thirteen years ago)

haha i was about to say, being spared the Gotye/B.o.B song but getting Akon singing Elton instead is a real out of the frying pan and into the fire situation.

2 Celloz (some dude), Thursday, 20 December 2012 14:53 (thirteen years ago)

This whiney originated meme that I hate all keef reviews except my own is such bs and is more abt how much i've written on him. like were not dissing ppl's reviews of rap on here every day

Anyway, my only problem w jordans review is that the waka comparisons are useless imo

Also I think its funny that al is so condescending abt that stuff re whats going to be a hit etc. when he just underestimated lp sales by 20k

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 15:17 (thirteen years ago)

20k is only a wide margin when the number is that small to begin with, which kinda underlines my overall point

nobody's bitch speaks again (some dude), Friday, 21 December 2012 15:27 (thirteen years ago)

Thats not a small number considering the climate and that his big singles haven't even really impacted. He outsold Futures first week numbers by 15k, and still 4k if you include pluto 3d. Meanwhile future pushed and promoted his records while keef has done no shows throughout the county and has been releasing videos for songs not on his album

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 18:33 (thirteen years ago)

That should read no-shows,meaning flaking on appearances

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 18:34 (thirteen years ago)

this is like reading those insane pop stan boards arguing over who's flopped more

lex pretend, Friday, 21 December 2012 18:43 (thirteen years ago)

lol

Rolling "2 chainz" draadje (The Reverend), Friday, 21 December 2012 19:11 (thirteen years ago)

haven't heard the rest of the T.I. record, but i love "ball" and "sorry".

have a sandwich or ice cream sandwich (Jordan), Friday, 21 December 2012 19:23 (thirteen years ago)

50k isnt flopping numbers. Al even said, right now its mostly media attention. The songs will carry the lp

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 19:44 (thirteen years ago)

compounding it right there

lex pretend, Friday, 21 December 2012 19:52 (thirteen years ago)

yeah deej basically tries to turn things into stan wars, if i say anything about one of his fetish artists he gets all "well he's better than LOS" like i'm supposed to catch feelings.

nobody's bitch speaks again (some dude), Friday, 21 December 2012 21:16 (thirteen years ago)

trying to accurately describe a dynamic is 'stanning' now? and the los post was a joke!

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 21:21 (thirteen years ago)

i like los!

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 21:21 (thirteen years ago)

"The songs will carry the lp" crystal ball ish is stan talk, deal with it

nobody's bitch speaks again (some dude), Friday, 21 December 2012 21:26 (thirteen years ago)

dog i'm not the only one who thinks this, 50 cent himself CALLED hate being sober his 'in da club'

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 21:50 (thirteen years ago)

see whiney. i'm blaming you for starting this bullshit DEEj THINKS HES THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN HAVE OPINIONS ABOUT KEEF meme that bsod is now running with

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 22:23 (thirteen years ago)

its esp frustrating because in my writing i've been very careful not to get into asserting any kind of THIS IS THE NEXT XYZ type talk but it doesn't matter once ppl start these kinds of idiotic narratives

D-40, Friday, 21 December 2012 22:24 (thirteen years ago)

I for one wasn't buying whiney's last digs at all, don't let urself get baited

een, Saturday, 22 December 2012 04:37 (thirteen years ago)

The deejkeef meme was based solely on ILX comments. I thought you were being unnessarily burthurt about the IRL consequences but now that I see its become fodder for sod snark I'm sorry for not just keeping the joek here. My bad homie

finally rich, fun-packed, fulfilling (Whiney G. Weingarten), Saturday, 22 December 2012 15:47 (thirteen years ago)

It's not a real dig, I just thought it was lol how you always had a comment about "UR DOING KEEF WRONG." Even when you're like "Look I like Jordan" you have to throw in a "but the waka comparison is :/"

finally rich, fun-packed, fulfilling (Whiney G. Weingarten), Saturday, 22 December 2012 15:49 (thirteen years ago)

haha deej be honest, how many sites have you left comments on, or publicly thrown shade at, in the past couple weeks re: Chief Keef? whiney did not singlehandedly create the idea that you are policing all media coverage of CK, you kinda sorta maybe had a hand in it yourself.

nobody's bitch speaks again (some dude), Saturday, 22 December 2012 15:56 (thirteen years ago)

bullshit
