I hadn't heard of or heard the Andres track either. Seems odd to see something so conservative (but not even pointedly so in the way that excites the pipecock brigade) so feted? I could def see it standing out in a set tho, doesn't really sound like much of the other house I hear recently, although I admittedly haven't been keeping up with that end of things. Seems like it would be pretty fun to dance to too.

Damn why must you people ruin everything I love? New 4 U is wonderfully catchy tune. Is there really a Coldplay song better than Howling? If there is I haven't heard it.

So I guess I'm the only one with a soft spot for Nicki Minaj's Starships? I don't know why but I actually read some reviews and it seems like it was widely reviled as derivative of a variety of other mediocre dance pop songs, but to me there's just something about it...

I like Howling but I'm not sure I'd particularly want to dance to it. This end of dance music has had a soft spot for a fake Coldplay croon for a while - I'm thinking of the Supermayer remix of 'Heart's A Mess' by Gotye, half of what Apparat's done etc.

"pound the alarm" was less ubiquitously anthemic but probably better? idk if it's nicki's branding or nicki's charisma (or just nicki's shamelessness) that elevates her trashy commercial dance-pop over most other people's, but she makes it pretty amazing

what's wrong with "let it go"?? amazing track, transcends even the tiredness of cut-up r&b vox

Fur De Liebe is really nice but Pantha Du Prince should sue.

Xpost: interestingly the vocal sample is one of the things I dislike the most about that track. Sleep inducing. Overall the track just sounds bland. It belongs with the Hot Creation crops.

oh, well, i still think hot creations is probably about the best thing in dance atm, so we clearly differ on this

But for whatever reason I like Huxley better than the Hot Creations crew, feels a little closer to what I like about poppy garage tracks.

I swear Benediction reminds me more of Clivilles and Cole pre C+C Music Factory more than anything. Clivilles and Cole remixing a boy group.

it's kinda strange to see ejeca's 'horizon' and bicep's '$tripper' getting all the props while their collab - 'you' - is mostly being ignored on these EOY. tho I love the 3, 'you' stands slightly above them - prob because of the central melody and vocal samples that give the song some kind of voyeuristic emptiness.

why does anyone prefer the mano le tough remix of simulation to the original, can anyone explain?

i mean, i generally really like mano le tough, but the remix of simulation just seems so bleh compared to the heavy, thick disco-funk of the original
