VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Monday, 21 March 2005 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Mui mui

Sleep my child (Alex in SF), Monday, 21 March 2005 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Beautiful

Victor Mackulous (nordicskilla), Monday, 21 March 2005 22:52 (twenty-one years ago)

i quite like the "drum n bass" one, assuming its "reload". i liek his "old school flow" on it

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah! I like that track now.

Victor Mackulous (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Can someone send me the non-RTR tracks? I want to hear the drum and bass song!

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 16:46 (twenty-one years ago)

ALEX

I SENT IT TO YOU

Victor Mackulous (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Goddamn it. I need to figure out a better system of organizing my drive. I keep misplacing stuff.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

haha!

Victor Mackulous (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

two months pass...
Remember Me is great.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 11 June 2005 23:46 (twenty-one years ago)

the album's leaked, or most of it anyway. "nite nite" (feat mike skinner) seems to be a radio rip, but the rest sound clean 'n legit.

jermaine (jnoble), Saturday, 18 June 2005 18:39 (twenty years ago)

s'called "home sweet home", btw.

jermaine (jnoble), Saturday, 18 June 2005 18:39 (twenty years ago)

nobody cares much, then?

jermaine (jnoble), Sunday, 19 June 2005 10:04 (twenty years ago)

i just haven't found it yet!

Sean M (Sean M), Sunday, 19 June 2005 10:37 (twenty years ago)

i'll try do some yousendits later, maybe

jermaine (jnoble), Sunday, 19 June 2005 11:21 (twenty years ago)

that'd be terrif - i've got "typical me" and "remember me", both of which i love.

Sean M (Sean M), Sunday, 19 June 2005 11:35 (twenty years ago)

here's the title track, home sweet home

jermaine (jnoble), Sunday, 19 June 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

thanks jermaine!

Sean M (Sean M), Sunday, 19 June 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

Nice one!

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Sunday, 19 June 2005 20:25 (twenty years ago)

it's out tomorrow, ain't it?

tom west (thomp), Sunday, 19 June 2005 20:25 (twenty years ago)

I'm very impressed by this record (especially its) production. I'm surprised there isn't more talk about it here.

snowballing (snowballing), Friday, 24 June 2005 19:30 (twenty years ago)

I have a t-shirt of it! Thanks Chantelle!

a real bear behind the microphone (nordicskilla), Friday, 24 June 2005 19:52 (twenty years ago)

man, i want to hear this.

Sean M (Sean M), Friday, 24 June 2005 19:59 (twenty years ago)

Excited!!!!!

a real bear behind the microphone (nordicskilla), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

Not terribly, but I still want to hear.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

Wait...Kano's only 19? Surely not.

a real bear behind the microphone (nordicskilla), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

The album is good! Although those looking for "rawness" might be advised to look elsewhere.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

I LOVE "How We Livin'". It makes me homesick and sad!

a real bear behind the microphone (nordicskilla), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:22 (twenty years ago)

Although those looking for "rawness" might be advised to look elsewhere.

Definitely, but some of the production on this is really good.

a real bear behind the microphone (nordicskilla), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

I do sort of wonder who is going to but it, though (I will be).

a real bear behind the microphone (nordicskilla), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

buy

a real bear behind the microphone (nordicskilla), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

More people will buy this than the last Wiley album.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:27 (twenty years ago)

Kano is made for Top Of The Pops! (has he been on yet?)

a real bear behind the microphone (nordicskilla), Friday, 24 June 2005 20:28 (twenty years ago)

When this album is good, it's very very good, and when it's bad it's awful.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:06 (twenty years ago)

More people will buy this than the last Wiley album.

:(

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

some of it is quite embarassing, like the tracks where he tries to get all introspective. the beats are generally really good though.

only 456 people bought the wiley LP though.

ppp, Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

the 'rock' tracks and the dreadful Mike Skinner one are the worst for me.

it's quite unfortunate that when you hit 'Boys Love Girls' at the end, you suddenly remember how stunning it could all have been.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:39 (twenty years ago)

Thye could have put What have You Dun on it!

Who has heard the "Lethal Bizzle" album?

Edgware General (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:39 (twenty years ago)

I've still only listened the one time.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:45 (twenty years ago)

i still am shocked they didnt put what have you done on it. and they only stuck boyz luv girlz on there as a hidden track. like theyre ashamed of it or something. but what you done - oh that track is so fantastic.

the bizzle album is good, lots of fun, and high energy, but after a couple of plays, you just think lethal is a bit of a joke. an energetic, fun, rousing joke, but a joke nonetheless. its that ridiculously pumped up hyper aggressive voice he raps with all the time that does it. i miss lethal from more fire crew era.

ppp, Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:51 (twenty years ago)

I never thought I'd say it, but I just miss the rest of the More Fire Crew.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

me too. a lot actually. lethal needs them back. actually, he needs platinum 45 again too.

TS: platinum 45 vs Dexplicit

ppp, Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:56 (twenty years ago)

It's funny that the only record this year which gets "grime" right (in that it works best when it's many voices battling each other for space to exist), Roll Deep's album, is also unfortunately the one which uses the worst LEAST grime backing beats. Other than Essentials Heating Vol 2 which is better than all the rest of this stuff combined (except "When I'm Ere".)

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:56 (twenty years ago)

there's so much they could have put on it! 'What Have You Done?' obviously, yes, also 'So Sure' and 'Leave Me Alone' and 'I Hate Boyfriends' and and and, etc.

instead we get fucking 'Nite Nite' and 'I Don't Know Why'.

most of it is pretty great though, just that I've heard most of the highlights already.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

I don't think there is anything wrong with the production on the Lethal B record actually so DExplicit is okay by me.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

does anyone know who is producing on it?

dexplicit is good, i just like the old platinum 45 stuff too. id take oi over pow.

ppp, Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:58 (twenty years ago)

producing on the kano album, i mean.

ppp, Tuesday, 28 June 2005 16:59 (twenty years ago)

Plasticman did Hitman I believe. The rest sounds like DEx to me.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 17:00 (twenty years ago)

Oh the Kano album. No idea actually. I mean other than Diplo, Davinche and Jammer.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 28 June 2005 17:01 (twenty years ago)

id like to know who produced ghetto kid...

ppp, Tuesday, 28 June 2005 17:02 (twenty years ago)

This is not at all good so far and the track 'MAAD' has made me cringe like little else this year - at least it's the only thing Fraser T Smith produces on here :/

Aptly nicknamed ‘Crème’ because he is so edible. Hilarious. (DJ Mencap), Thursday, 15 July 2010 14:24 (fifteen years ago)

The one with Ghetts is pretty fun. On 'Slaves' he interpolates 'Baa Baa Black Sheep'. It is not easy to listen to.

two weeks pass...

Get Wild is pretty great, but Kano is sort of the worst thing about it - he used to sound so charismatic but somehow feels less so with every release.

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 August 2010 14:40 (fifteen years ago)

Having trouble believing this will be worse than the Jammer album, which really is a complete mess, and not in a good way.

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 August 2010 14:41 (fifteen years ago)

jammer album is not that bad. def a mess but redeemed slightly by a few standouts. not so redeemable - jammer generally sounding like hes only doing it for the sake of it in hope that some major will snap him up so he can get off big dada.

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Monday, 2 August 2010 17:42 (fifteen years ago)

kano just sounds more desperate with each release.
he was good on the gorillaz soundtrack but he seems like someone that will only ever sound good when they know theyre popular.
til then hes just going to sound/be lost.

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Monday, 2 August 2010 17:43 (fifteen years ago)

*sorry, gorillaz album.

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Monday, 2 August 2010 17:43 (fifteen years ago)

five years pass...

one song on the new one, little sis, i think might be the best thing hes ever done.

StillAdvance, Wednesday, 9 March 2016 15:35 (ten years ago)

Funny that, I thought it represented the now traditional point in a Kano album where the quality nosedives off a cliff never to recover.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 9 March 2016 18:07 (ten years ago)

idk, i now find him a little unconvincing doing songs like new banger, or hail even, though listening back to some of the older stuff, theres a certain lack of assurance in a lot of his vocals (once he got signed weirdly), which is why i think the softer parts of the album now seem to work better for me. in terms of writing, i think hes a lot more expressive than before, and there are a lot of lines on the album which i could not have imagined him writing earlier, so its nice to hear a bit more about him. i like the album purely for that. i find a lot of his production to be somewhat dreary, but somehow on little sis, its perfect. its like kano doing the streets.

StillAdvance, Thursday, 10 March 2016 10:06 (ten years ago)

three years pass...

🎤 this is such a minor thing to be gassed about from the show but in all the high levels of production, incredible band and backing singers. Things going back to basics for Class of De Ja passing one wired mic at RAH and murking is emotional 🔥 pic.twitter.com/DopjhowIp3

— Elijah* (@Eli1ah) October 8, 2019

Even with the dodgy sound on the video this looks like absolute fire.
