My favorite thing about this song is that The Timelords use it as an example of the ultimate pop song in their Guide To Having A Number One Hit The Easy Way.

Basically, the genius of the song is that it condenses what every woman in the world wants to hear a man say in like 25 syllables.

A couple years ago I gave my (composition major) friend a Rick Astley compilation for her birthday after she confessed her undying love for his music. She said she used to rock out in her room to his songs. Since then, I have been trying to imagine what it would mean to rock out to Rick Astley.
