strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:12 (twenty-two years ago)

He's like Cody Chesnutt without the sense of humor, which probably doesn't sound like an endorsment. I'm pretty indiscriminating when it comes to R&B.

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i really, really, REALLY react badly to even the hint of possible not-really-meaning-it in R&B.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:19 (twenty-two years ago)

r. kelly gets away with it because he always looks like the ridiculousness spilling out of his mouth is DEATHLY SERIOUS.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Eamon means it!

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:21 (twenty-two years ago)

r. dresses like a big gay zorro and yet has this face on that's like jake lamotta's at the end of raging bull

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:21 (twenty-two years ago)

R. means it too! Which is why he's the greatest thing in the world, instead of the worst.

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't mean to invoke "World's Greatest"

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:22 (twenty-two years ago)

the problem with eamon is his terrible voice!!

jeremy jordan (cruisy), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:22 (twenty-two years ago)

also: his sucking.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:23 (twenty-two years ago)

He went to my high school. My sister knew him. Said we was a loser.

Wifey thinks the song is funny (we live in Staten Island). I just think it sucks

roger adultery (roger adultery), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't doubt that this fuckwit "means it", but I doubt he's thinking through what he's saying, which is the BIG problem I have w/ most "emo" type things - it's said (or trying to be said) at The Moment when The Pain hits. Bully for Eamon / DC / Death Cab / Limp Bizkit / etc. for getting this shit off the chest, but fuck off for thinking I'd want to hear this sort of nonsense more than once. If I actually stood behind EVERYTHING I spouted off when I was really pissed off at anything, I'd sound like a raving lunatic. Things "of the moment" should undoubtedly stay "of the moment".

And those damn feminine "ooooh oooh" backing vocals - oh, it's IRONIC that there's a girl backing his mealy mouthed asscrap up. Gawrsh.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:37 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah this is crap but it's entertaining. like if you took a dump and then looked down for the post-dump evaluation and eminem was on it, or if it started singing "there's NO business like SHOW business."

or if it said "fuck you you ho"

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:45 (twenty-two years ago)

matt have i told you lately that i love you?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 8 March 2004 01:50 (twenty-two years ago)

The rebuttal:

Lyrics:

Oh oh
oooh
no no no

(You know there's two sides to every story)

See I don't know why you cryin' like a bitch
talkin' shit like a snitch
why you write a song 'bout me
if you really didn't care
you wouldn't wanna share
tellin' everybody just how you feel

CHORUS
fuck What I did, was your fault somehow
fuck the presents, I threw all that shit out
don't go cryin' you didn't mean jack
well guess what yo, fuck you right back

What I did was your fault somehow
the presents,I threw all that shit out
don't go cryin' you didn't mean jack
well guess what your, fuck you right back

You thought you could really make me moan
I had better sex all along (ha ha ha ha)
I had to do your friend
now you want me to come back
you must be smokin' crack
Im goin' else where and thats a fact

Fuck all those nights I moaned real loud
fuck it, I faked it, aren't you proud?
fuck all those nights you thought you broke my back
well guess what your, your sex was wack

Fuck all those nights I moaned real loud
fuck it,I faked it,i'll rent you out
fuck all those nights you thought you broke my back
well guess what your, your sex was wack

whoa whoa
uh uh yea

whoa whoa
uh uh yea

whoa whoa
uh uh yea

whoa whoa
uh uh yea

You questioned did I care
maybe I would howl if you wanna come to me
now it's over
but I do admit i'm glad I didn't catch your crabs
I can't swear bad cause I got to go

CHORUS
fuck What I did, was your fault somehow
fuck the presents, I threw all that shit out
don't go cryin' you didn't mean jack
well guess what yo, fuck you right back

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 8 March 2004 02:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Can we dial back to the Cold War and push the button now?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 8 March 2004 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

No, that would generalize the suffering. It must all be concentrated at this man's quivering body.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 8 March 2004 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan, the blogger whose site I pulled those lyrics from suggested that Eamon retaliate with another track!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 8 March 2004 02:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I love that even the 'normal' parts of the lyrics come off as kind of bizarre, i.e. "I even said you were my great one".

apparently Eamon has a doo wop song called "Ho Wop", and when he was on TRL he wore a sweatshirt that said HO WOP on the front. I hope he at least becomes successful enough to ship his own line of Ho-Wop-A-Wear to retail.

Al (sitcom), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 04:34 (twenty-two years ago)

they both are ok i dont turn the radio up when they come off but i dont switch it. I got props for anyone making money. so frankee and eamon do yo thang
no need to hate money makers no matter how they do it

lida truly, Friday, 12 March 2004 03:01 (twenty-two years ago)

HOLLA!

JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 12 March 2004 03:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Double dud. And it's not enough for them to give us the original track, we have to get the Frankee version too. From MTV:

Eamon has rocketed up the charts with a song about his ex-girlfriend called "F--- It (I Don't Want You Back)," and now a woman who claims to be the subject of the track has retaliated with her own song: "FU Right Back."

The song adds new lyrics to the beats and melody of the Staten Island, New York, singer's hit, dissing the "ho-wop" crooner with lines like "You thought you could really make me moan/ I had better sex all alone" and "Now you want me to come back/ You must be smoking crack/ I'm going elsewhere, and that's a fact."

New York radio station Z100 received the track anonymously in the mail and began playing it on February 24. Almost immediately, the request lines started lighting up, and the station has been playing the cut almost as much as Eamon's original...(Editor’s note: Eamon later claimed that he had approved the Frankee track and that the beef between the two was staged, a claim that Frankee denies.)

Lesley, Friday, 12 March 2004 03:46 (twenty-two years ago)

somehow when i hear this song, i can't stop thinking of that cher song...the one where she had the vocoder...'believe' was it?

stolenbus (stolenbus), Friday, 12 March 2004 04:20 (twenty-two years ago)

we bought a copy of the full album while on tour. The opener, "Love Them Ho's," is based on "I Only Have Eyes For You" and is immortally unbelievably great. The rest of the album is shit.

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Friday, 12 March 2004 04:25 (twenty-two years ago)

why is this filed in the hip hop section?

JaXoN (JasonD), Friday, 12 March 2004 04:50 (twenty-two years ago)

The opener, "Love Them Ho's," is based on "I Only Have Eyes For You" and is immortally unbelievably great.

Enh, I got "Zealots" for that

Nate in ST.P (natedetritus), Friday, 12 March 2004 05:09 (twenty-two years ago)

And Atmosphere for the rest of the equation

Nate in ST.P (natedetritus), Friday, 12 March 2004 05:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I heard a little of the album today, I'm particularly fond of "Get Off My Dick!".

Al (sitcom), Friday, 12 March 2004 05:18 (twenty-two years ago)

"I freak you like you like it then you want some more. Let's explore the bedroom floor over and over and oooover..."

I dig "On & On" and most of the other ballads. And who the hell is Rap Legend Milk Dee?

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

"I freak you like you like it then you want some more. Let's explore the bedroom floor over and over and oooover..."

I think you mixed up his album with Smoove B's. Or did you?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

It's all Eamon, dawg.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I actually saw the video on MTV last night. The girls I was hanging out with were unimpressed, but I think everyone was too drunk to really listen to what Eamon was laying down. I still fell out of my chair when he pushed the pizza off the table.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

please dear god tell me they dont mean milk from audio two

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

(and if so please dear god tell me miccio didnt not know who he was)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

haha maybe this means monie love will record an answer record

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

"the real eamon"

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm tellin' ya, Jess, more and more people are watching Fear of a Black Hat and thinking it's an actual documentary of the time.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yeah it's Milk from Audio Two, whom I haven't heard. He produced a lot of this and raps on two tracks. One of his raps recommends punching the girl's hating friends in the head and the other apologizes to Eamon for doing his girl in a bathroom, her "head in the bowl." I must admit Milk didn't charm me much.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 12 March 2004 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

WOAH. Ok, I just looked up Milk Dee on allmusic. Had no idea Eamon had such prolific pals.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 12 March 2004 19:00 (twenty-two years ago)

poor giz

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 12 March 2004 19:01 (twenty-two years ago)

one of the songs on the Eamon album samples Audio Two according to the liner notes, interestingly enough.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 12 March 2004 19:01 (twenty-two years ago)

the beat to this song actually songs like a song I've heard before. anybody have any idea what I'm talking about?

Misty, Monday, 15 March 2004 00:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought this was really neat the first four times I heard it. For some reason I had an image of a twelve year old black kid singing it. Finding out it's a goombah in his early thirties makes it terrible for some reason.
Am I racist or just corny?

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Monday, 15 March 2004 04:18 (twenty-two years ago)

both, but you're in good company here.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 15 March 2004 04:21 (twenty-two years ago)

The fact that he's just some thirtysomething schlub from Statan Island makes it even better!

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Monday, 15 March 2004 04:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Eamon is 20

Adrian (Adrian Langston), Monday, 15 March 2004 04:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh well

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Monday, 15 March 2004 04:38 (twenty-two years ago)

He's aging awfully poorly, don't you think?

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Monday, 15 March 2004 04:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I did think that with slight softening of the beats, this could well be a Daniel O'Donnell song. Seriously.

It's a #1 for sure. We likes our swearing over here.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 15 March 2004 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I really hope the next single is "On & On." The FIRST LINE of the song is "every time I finish I can see it in your eyes." And it's not even the smuggest song about his sexual skill and stamina. There's another song about how you're loving the sex cuz it's better than X and that's why you'll fuck with him for the rest of your life.

Though "On & On" has a better melody.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 15 March 2004 22:29 (twenty-two years ago)

That's like getting nostalgic for having vomit and turds thrown at you.

messiahwannabe, Tuesday, 9 March 2010 10:39 (sixteen years ago)

Wish Eamon could take Mark Linkous' place...

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Tuesday, 9 March 2010 14:11 (sixteen years ago)
