No Tomorrow kinda falls apart there for a few seconds.

After a full listen this might well qualify as my 2012 Flockaveli. I'm not mad at all. And HA HA HA sort of... works?

its repetitive in a bad way

other than 'ballin' & arguably 'laughin to the bank' (which i kind of like despite not wanting to listen to) i think 'no tomorrow' is prob the weakest

'repetitive in a bad way' and 'repetitive in a good way' are the only 2 categories on this album aren't they

that's a pretty pessimistic view... i think with the way most rap albums get put together nowadays that this went off pretty damn well

oh i haven't heard it i was just making a joke because all of the songs i've heard are same damn flow over and over and over

well "love sosa" and "hate being sober" are pretty similar but idk i think it's varied w/in its own aesthetic

i don't mean repetition between songs but within songs -- "love sosa" is just the same sing song flow over and over, same from verse to chorus, makes me wanna die

as i said when you said the same thing last week: "ha" has a chorus that is distinct from the verse, having some repetition within the structure of the verse is completely different from what i'm talking about

well, i think that ppl overstate the repetition of the flow in love sosa if you think it doesn't work, there's variation in certain parts of it and the way he puts together particular lines, i mean the pattern is obviously intended to be predictable & then he pushes away from it at certain points

i mean "citgo" is basically one long chorus (or one long hook) but that's a big reason i like it, keef hits on this really great melody and then rides it out for 3 minutes... when it works its great but when it doesnt then it gets old fast

I still cant get excited about Keef & crew. I know its lame to say "it all sounds the same" but I just cant get past that with this stuff, I've tried. I think it has just as much to do with the production as it does the rapping.

I do kinda like this one with 50 on it though, idk

the production is awesome tho

Sometimes it hits the right note but it all kinda blends together after a while? Build up... drop... repeat. I'm reducing it quite a bit obv and I know there is variation within that sound, I'm just not interested in the raps enough to search out the couple few tracks/beats I might like.

I really like King Louie out of the drill scene, though. His production choices seem much more varied.

yeah Louie definitely the most appealing of these dudes from what i've heard too

but keef has the most star power, he's got "it" compared to durk and louie, like keef ends up making the songs i want to listen to most, mostly due to his knack for this earwormy hooks

i think keef is dope & super charismatic but im not mad if dudes prefer louie b/c i do too at some level, and hes not getting nearly the same level of attention

"Laughin To The Bank" sounds like the end of music

I pretty much mentally file Game in the "hip-hop Ween" category at this point. Often hilarious homage to different artists with almost every song, adapting their stylistic tics and trademarks. Of course Ween's comedy is intentional, but I think the comparison holds some water.

cant lie on the way into work i was listening to finally rich & think i may have underrated it a bit, it really is a p great album

Yeah, I'm enjoying this so far, especially after really not expecting much. Wasn't really feeling Love Sosa...

I don't like "Laughing to the Bank," "No Tomorrow" (I like the beat, Keef doesn't do anything with it) or "3Hunna" (flatliner) and "Got Them Bands" is way too fucking all over the place, way too much song going on.

But I really like the rest of the album.

'3hunna' is a classic & one of his best songs albeit the 2nd keef verse >>>>>>> ross's verse
