his Rick Ross flow is hysterical

some dude, Wednesday, 12 December 2012 22:33 (thirteen years ago)

his tyler impression on the last album was hilarious and sad at the same time, as all his impressions are

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Wednesday, 12 December 2012 22:38 (thirteen years ago)

He clearly does it on purpose too. Sad, hilarious and incredible.

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Wednesday, 12 December 2012 22:41 (thirteen years ago)

No Tomorrow kinda falls apart there for a few seconds.

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Wednesday, 12 December 2012 23:05 (thirteen years ago)

After a full listen this might well qualify as my 2012 Flockaveli. I'm not mad at all. And HA HA HA sort of... works?

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Wednesday, 12 December 2012 23:33 (thirteen years ago)

it is just not possible for you to say anything about Chief Keef without saying "Flockaveli" is it

some dude, Wednesday, 12 December 2012 23:36 (thirteen years ago)

imo no tomorrow falls apart point blank

D-40, Wednesday, 12 December 2012 23:47 (thirteen years ago)

xp Straight up impossible. HA HA HA is this year's BOW BOW BOW

And, yeah. No Tomorrow falls apart point blank. But it falls harder in certain places.

dyslectic Christ Brown (longneck), Wednesday, 12 December 2012 23:49 (thirteen years ago)

i wish he had his chicago friends on here instead of rick ross/wiz/jeezy

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Wednesday, 12 December 2012 23:57 (thirteen years ago)

"no tomorrow" sounded like one of the best songs on the album to me

salute me or crut me (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 December 2012 01:04 (thirteen years ago)

T.I. leaked too. Sunrise, sunset

Number None, Thursday, 13 December 2012 01:13 (thirteen years ago)

the ti is kinda awful

its repetitive in a bad way

D-40, Thursday, 13 December 2012 01:33 (thirteen years ago)

other than 'ballin' & arguably 'laughin to the bank' (which i kind of like despite not wanting to listen to) i think 'no tomorrow' is prob the weakest

D-40, Thursday, 13 December 2012 01:34 (thirteen years ago)

'repetitive in a bad way' and 'repetitive in a good way' are the only 2 categories on this album aren't they

some dude, Thursday, 13 December 2012 01:51 (thirteen years ago)

that's a pretty pessimistic view... i think with the way most rap albums get put together nowadays that this went off pretty damn well

salute me or crut me (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 December 2012 01:55 (thirteen years ago)

oh i haven't heard it i was just making a joke because all of the songs i've heard are same damn flow over and over and over

some dude, Thursday, 13 December 2012 02:02 (thirteen years ago)

well "love sosa" and "hate being sober" are pretty similar but idk i think it's varied w/in its own aesthetic

salute me or crut me (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 13 December 2012 02:08 (thirteen years ago)

i don't mean repetition between songs but within songs -- "love sosa" is just the same sing song flow over and over, same from verse to chorus, makes me wanna die

some dude, Thursday, 13 December 2012 02:24 (thirteen years ago)

u sound like dudes complaining about how juvenile rhymes 'ha' with 'ha'

D-40, Thursday, 13 December 2012 02:26 (thirteen years ago)

as i said when you said the same thing last week: "ha" has a chorus that is distinct from the verse, having some repetition within the structure of the verse is completely different from what i'm talking about

some dude, Thursday, 13 December 2012 02:35 (thirteen years ago)

well, i think that ppl overstate the repetition of the flow in love sosa if you think it doesn't work, there's variation in certain parts of it and the way he puts together particular lines, i mean the pattern is obviously intended to be predictable & then he pushes away from it at certain points

D-40, Thursday, 13 December 2012 03:04 (thirteen years ago)

i mean "citgo" is basically one long chorus (or one long hook) but that's a big reason i like it, keef hits on this really great melody and then rides it out for 3 minutes... when it works its great but when it doesnt then it gets old fast

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 13 December 2012 04:04 (thirteen years ago)

(or one long verse)

sorry i just played soccer very tired

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 13 December 2012 04:06 (thirteen years ago)

I still cant get excited about Keef & crew. I know its lame to say "it all sounds the same" but I just cant get past that with this stuff, I've tried. I think it has just as much to do with the production as it does the rapping.

I do kinda like this one with 50 on it though, idk

small-scale fux with (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Thursday, 13 December 2012 05:02 (thirteen years ago)

the production is awesome tho

D-40, Thursday, 13 December 2012 05:05 (thirteen years ago)

Sometimes it hits the right note but it all kinda blends together after a while? Build up... drop... repeat. I'm reducing it quite a bit obv and I know there is variation within that sound, I'm just not interested in the raps enough to search out the couple few tracks/beats I might like.

I really like King Louie out of the drill scene, though. His production choices seem much more varied.

small-scale fux with (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Thursday, 13 December 2012 05:30 (thirteen years ago)

yeah Louie definitely the most appealing of these dudes from what i've heard too

some dude, Thursday, 13 December 2012 05:32 (thirteen years ago)

but keef has the most star power, he's got "it" compared to durk and louie, like keef ends up making the songs i want to listen to most, mostly due to his knack for this earwormy hooks

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 13 December 2012 05:51 (thirteen years ago)

ugh we're expressing personal opinions dude not playing armchair A&R

some dude, Thursday, 13 December 2012 05:53 (thirteen years ago)

no obvs this is my opinion?

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 13 December 2012 05:56 (thirteen years ago)

i like durk and louie too

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 13 December 2012 05:56 (thirteen years ago)

Star power means nothing to me at all.

small-scale fux with (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Thursday, 13 December 2012 06:07 (thirteen years ago)

Some releases I've been liking:

Traxamillion - My Radio
PSD Tha Drivah - Bullets and Bouquets
Showbiz and AG - Mugshot Music

small-scale fux with (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Thursday, 13 December 2012 06:17 (thirteen years ago)

i think keef is dope & super charismatic but im not mad if dudes prefer louie b/c i do too at some level, and hes not getting nearly the same level of attention

nah still haven't listened to that

some dude, Thursday, 13 December 2012 11:56 (thirteen years ago)

"Laughin To The Bank" sounds like the end of music

Number None, Thursday, 13 December 2012 12:20 (thirteen years ago)

I pretty much mentally file Game in the "hip-hop Ween" category at this point. Often hilarious homage to different artists with almost every song, adapting their stylistic tics and trademarks. Of course Ween's comedy is intentional, but I think the comparison holds some water.

HAPPY BDAY TOOTS (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 13 December 2012 15:47 (thirteen years ago)

cant lie on the way into work i was listening to finally rich & think i may have underrated it a bit, it really is a p great album

D-40, Thursday, 13 December 2012 16:19 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm enjoying this so far, especially after really not expecting much. Wasn't really feeling Love Sosa...

MikoMcha, Thursday, 13 December 2012 17:52 (thirteen years ago)

I don't like "Laughing to the Bank," "No Tomorrow" (I like the beat, Keef doesn't do anything with it) or "3Hunna" (flatliner) and "Got Them Bands" is way too fucking all over the place, way too much song going on.

But I really like the rest of the album.

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 13 December 2012 17:56 (thirteen years ago)

'3hunna' is a classic & one of his best songs albeit the 2nd keef verse >>>>>>> ross's verse

D-40, Thursday, 13 December 2012 18:30 (thirteen years ago)

original > remix is what i mean

D-40, Thursday, 13 December 2012 18:30 (thirteen years ago)

otherwise agree w/ your breakdown
altho i have a feeling that while i will skip 'laughing to the bank' a lot i kind of like it in spite of itself, or the idea of it, or something
