the zedd remix of that song is what Ty$ sampled for 'my cabana,' and skrillex wouldnt clear it :(

J0rdan S., Monday, 3 December 2012 15:47 (thirteen years ago)

I like that Skrillex has Chris Cunningham-lite videos to go along with his Aphex Twin-lite music.

she was giving it to two friends ...Aaay! (crüt), Wednesday, 12 December 2012 06:39 (thirteen years ago)

ha

The Reverend, Wednesday, 12 December 2012 06:55 (thirteen years ago)

I think that's only really quite true of the "Equinox" video tho

The Reverend, Wednesday, 12 December 2012 06:56 (thirteen years ago)

is that the "call 911 now!!" song?

mh, Wednesday, 12 December 2012 14:59 (thirteen years ago)

minaj 'spaceships' is the only real fake aphex/cunningham this year

‎"Hey Dad, do you know who Skrillex is?"

Yes.

"Do you know why he can never go fishing?"

No, why?

"Because he always drops the BASS!"

that is one of the best things I have ever seen

mh, Monday, 24 December 2012 22:26 (thirteen years ago)

that was probably my best-spent two minutes of 2012

the late great, Monday, 24 December 2012 22:54 (thirteen years ago)

I just watched that three more times because Christmas Eve wasn't half the experience that video is.

mh, Tuesday, 25 December 2012 05:07 (thirteen years ago)

not to hate but the original 30 second noscope vids from a long time ago were way more jarring and effective

That Farming Simulator video is hilarious, but mainly because Farming Simulator is hilarious.

earth of (snoball), Thursday, 3 January 2013 15:45 (thirteen years ago)

so dude sounds like burial now? this is cool but i'm not sure something tasteful like this is what i want from him after all

hemioblock (The Reverend), Thursday, 3 January 2013 16:34 (thirteen years ago)

WTF DUDE WARE'S THE FUCKIN DROP?????

I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Thursday, 3 January 2013 18:10 (thirteen years ago)

what i like about "leaving" (and i do like it, blatant burial jack or not) is that sonny can't do dark or ominous if he tried, so there's this dayglo happy rave optimism to it which is a nice twist to this sound

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 3 January 2013 18:17 (thirteen years ago)

It's much catchier than Burial, and I sometimes wish Burial was a bit catchier.

Lol he's even gone for a 'Sad Roads At Night' stock photo.

Matt DC, Thursday, 3 January 2013 18:55 (thirteen years ago)

man i was just starting to get into skrillex

flopson, Thursday, 3 January 2013 20:53 (thirteen years ago)

It's like the opposite of when Dylan went electric...

i don't think anyone should be worrying that "leaving" is indicative of the general direction he's going into. it's more a diversion than anything i'd imagine

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:09 (thirteen years ago)

i didn't realize that people listened to skrillex's recorded music

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:31 (thirteen years ago)

i just like bangarang a lot is all & was hoping for more of the same

flopson, Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:33 (thirteen years ago)

^^^

hemioblock (The Reverend), Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:45 (thirteen years ago)

"Bangarang" is awesome cause it works in the same jam-packed maximalist way as Basement Jaxx.

hemioblock (The Reverend), Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:47 (thirteen years ago)

"bangarang" is def pretty cool

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:47 (thirteen years ago)

i mean, for what it is

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:47 (thirteen years ago)

hmm I guess I will listen to bangarang, but track above is really generic sounding to my ears, like burial, pearson sound or faltydl with preset drums and strings. it should play in the cool teen store at the mall, whatever that is

Dominique, Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:51 (thirteen years ago)

and haha

ZOMBY ® ‏@ZombyMusic
Now dont ever mention burial and skrillex in same sentence again

Dominique, Thursday, 3 January 2013 21:56 (thirteen years ago)

Has Skrillex collaborated with Unicorn Kid yet? Should happen.

Tim F, Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:02 (thirteen years ago)

this is a compliment right?

lex pretend, Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:03 (thirteen years ago)

most people don't like youth, lex

mh, Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:05 (thirteen years ago)

actually, mall music is something I have enjoyed -- but not really meant as a compliment. generic-ness being the key ingredient to make any music suitable for the mall

Dominique, Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:07 (thirteen years ago)

sad 4 them

i don't think this track sounds like burial, there's something a bit new agey and ambient and '90s about it rather than ~night bus~ dark, but it is as boring as most burial

i read this as "it's catchier and has a bigger pop appeal than burial" which isn't good or bad

bish (bosch), don't kill my vibe (rennavate), Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:07 (thirteen years ago)

I don't really think that track is "catchy". it's maybe "lighter" than a burial or faltydl track. imo if it wasn't made by skrillex, it would never show up on ilx

Dominique, Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:11 (thirteen years ago)

"leaving" off this is pretty sweet

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:13 (thirteen years ago)

It's less of a copy of burial than faltydl (initially) already was, and way less of a copy than that one track on the Royal-T album. On and then like old Pariah tracks and etc. etc. etc. If copying Burial is a crime then Skrillex is gonna be on death row a long time.

Tim F, Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:15 (thirteen years ago)

ha

hemioblock (The Reverend), Thursday, 3 January 2013 22:15 (thirteen years ago)

Yeah, definitely picked it up here too. Rather like it.
