drug dat hoe is obviously n/l awful (although i agree with deej it is definitely not unprecedented) it's just that m@tt has been dropping the mic on us all year, and idk doing so at an instance of everyone coming together in shaming a track for crossing the line instead of the much more ambiguous line taken on GBE, it's just a bummer

i didn't really intend it that way, more just reacting to stuff and typing/thinking outloud about a sort of slow, building disenchantment with something that has really been something i've been a huge fan of for, god, i guess 25 years now...also i kinda don't feel like i have much more to contribute to this thread anymore, just stuff doesn't really grab me and esp now after you mentioned it i do feel like i've kinda become some kinda grumpy old-head killjoy abt stuff which is sort of a dumb way to be considering i have spotify and can just listen to like shitloads of old folk music i'm digging and not really worry abt "the state of hip hop" like my opinion really matters anyway :)

tbh the drug dat hoe thing is just sort of a signpost that's really obvious, but i'm sure if i was feeling more new uglier stuff from an artistic/musical standpoint i'd probably be more into holding my nose and bumping it like i did through 2 decades of rapper saying ugly shit
