"makes no sense" has grown on me, but i remember having a hard time understanding why it was THE husker song when I finally got Flip Your Wig

i can see now that my appreciation was tampered by already being familiar with Candy and Warehouse, can imagine Perfect Pop from Husker Du was more of a novelty in the moment

Love "Makes No Sense," and it might be my favorite non-screamy Bob vocal.

Also, recently realized that the single and LP mixes are slightly different; the single is more raw/less 80s-hair-metal-reverby.

It's funny that we keep talking about how Bob possibly rewrote Makes No Sense again with I Don't Know For Sure or Could You Be the One, but hell, it's so damn catchy.

There was an embarrassing time where I would try to write songs, but not figure out that I was plagiarizing until I started trying to fit a "Trying to catch a tiger by the tail" line in there.

xpost I'm not personally on that recording - we had a very open band policy - but the cover was my idea. The UK version of the CD had "Green Eyes" as a bonus track. Not sure if the singer is my bandmate's wife or just a friend.
