what is an interzone bubbler?

ukg interzone - the space where uk garage mingles with other club music du jour and vice versa

bubbler - dance tune with a bubbly, carribean-like feel... or something like that, there are probably like twenty smarter and better worded Finney posts on the matter ;)

yeah functionally speaking this is basically just like a catch-all thread for uk garage and other dance musics that come (or are made to come) within its orbit

subtextwise i guess maybe you could say there's a small scale disco-not-disco moment going on right now (with a dj called dj q as its larry levan) with this stuff and the idea of a bubbler and its bubbling is a valiant attempt to theorise the ties that loosely but indubitably bind various stuff together

thing is we'd reject a solid rubric for it anyway so it's kind of a we know it when we hear it on the fly thing idk

Interzone bubbling is one of those attempts: the effort to take the temperature of the age without instruments and in a situation in which we are not even sure there is so coherent a thing as an "age," or zeitgeist or "system" or "current situation" any longer.
