Do we have a thread for never to be released rap albums? Coming to grips with the harsh reality that Juelz Santana will never have another studio album

that alicia/maxwell joint was done by pop & oak... it was also co-written by that guy gary clark, jr. who i had never heard of until i opened rolling stone the other day and saw a four-star lead review. pop & oak have another joint on the album and a track she did with malay (who worked on like every channel orange song) made the album. there's also a joint on there w/ babyface. those are all in the final like four songs... everything else looks kind of drastic (smeezingtons + jeff bhasker!)

and for some reason i can never remember that they're called "oak & pop"

Malay also = Trunk Muzik!

jeff bhasker isn't really 'the we are young guy' in the context of an alicia keys album, he did "try sleeping with a broken heart"

yeah good point. but combined w/ the smeezingtons means it's probably not going to be "try sleeping with a broken heart"

eh "it will rain" is not far off from that

especially since the song is called "tears always win"

oh lol it looks like bhasker also did the god awful "girl on fire." and frank ocean co-wrote the malay production. and nothing w/ miguel made the album, although he's gonna be her opening act on the tour.

he's at that stage in his career where it's a smart thing to do. let him play to arenas when the opportunity comes up, he can go fill a theater whenever now.

i'm not really surprised either bcuz so much of the album was aimed for playing bigger audiences (sonically, not just in terms of growing his audience) but it's a little odd to see someone of his stature opening two straight tours

Missing his tour with The-Dream one of the bigger regrets of the last couple years.

the frank song is low key but really good

wayne's verse on the first song of that keyshia cole album is one of the worst rap verses i have ever heard

one of the best singles of the year in spite of him though (and the verse isn't any worse than "Motivation")
