i wonder what sort of useless business practices/ strategies are 679 recordings are upto ?

a few weeks back it was slated to be delayed till 2005 in the UK, then all of a sudden it appears as an October 4th release.

now problems of limited supply, inadequate point of sale promotions, seemingly not offering a competitive wholesale unit price to some retailers to pass on a competitive price for customers, no coordinated marketing campaign.

do these people have any understanding of basic business/ marketing principles?

Maybe they're anticipating a PROPER marketing push for when Me Plus One is released early next year, and dropping the album proper right after that?

I noticed the Mylo Mix of Chewing Gum is on the album - how does it differ from the single version? or IS IT the single version?

Yeah, it's a great album. No Easy Love has a genuinely lovely melody too, to go along with the perfect dance pop stuff. All of the tracks have such a strong character, not just the singles. There's so much to like about it I really can't understand a person who finds nothing to like on it.

the Mylo mix is faster and frankly, much better than the "album version" that was on the promo & singles.

It is kind of annoying not to have the original version of the song on the album though, no matter how good the remix is. I would be pissed if I bought the LP based on Chewing Gum and found the album version dramatically different.

The version on the album is the normal regular single version, on my (stupidly overpriced, entirely perfect) copy anyway.

i'm sure 679 have an internal logic which will explain all this but right now i'm off to order one special limited early album and one special chewing mylo remix version. And btw I've heard that there is going to be 8 different CD versions of Heartbeat plus a 7, 10 and 12'' AND a triple gatefold cassette all released at regular three and and half minute intervals from midnight on a wednesday.

Yeah, but nobody was dancing or seemed that interested. A bit of a flat atmosphere. Maybe just 'cos it was a Tuesday. The mysterious Mr X was in attendence, though, holding a 7" all night. Maybe it was a request.

Steve sent me 'I Will Get On' before vanishing, so the race is on! I have most of the album, except the title track (and the edit of 'Greatest Hit' though I have the full length instead). That covers everything.

My 'Chewing Gum' is definitely not the Mylo mix. At least not the fast Mylo mix that I've heard. It sounds the same, or very similar, to the version that I saw the video for on TV. It's 3:56 in length, which is 8 seconds longer than the mp3 I found from before, but I've realised that's just cause the mp3 is missing the first 8 seconds.

My 12" (which I can't listen to at the moment and has no track timings) has one side marked 'Album Mix'. I seem to remember the CD singles having another main mix (the single mix?) marked separately to the album mix, which appeared on one of them. Anyway. Maybe some copies of the album got out with the Mylo mix on in error?

btw. 'My Heartbeat' is still my favourite track of all. I'm don't seem to be able to overdose on it.

But the title track is wonderfully infectious perfect pop, and 'Always Too Late' is a bit of a monster. I'm just getting into the other Torbjørn Brundtland collaboration, 'My Best Friend' too. I just love her voice.

Optimo gets a thanks on the dedications, which is cool.

GMail is going weird then, I didn't refresh the page at any point. I got the Kaptein Kaliber mix twice (but not the original of 'I Will Always yet), and I keep getting my own attachments returned to me in the conversations.
