surely you jest? i was always struck by the irony of a show concerned with animal welfare having a theme with the sound of a poor saxophone being grotesquely tortured and mutilated.

I spent ages trying to find it on Youtube once, before it was on there - I was convinced I mustve imagined it.

he had a nun and a chef trying to rescue him if memory serves. patrick packard was the follow up to it on bbc1, but crapper.the credits were a shot of a fjord intercut with pineapples, beyond that it was unmemorable.

I could only remember one bit with a basket of apples falling down some steps. But that could've been another show.

Star Trek: Voyager. Best of the treks. Serenely optimistic.

oh no, no jest w/ animal hospital, the sublime contrast twixt the halting emoto-quiver of a kenny g and the fiery overblown brotzmannesque eye-bleeder wounded bleat-howl of a distressed animal in need of veterinary assistance, atop the most artfully banal breezy workaday daytime ditty is nothing short of jaw dropping. the sheer inoffensiveness of it is so titillatingly offensive that I love it, and i think they knew exactly what they were up to with this.
