ha, lolo-fi. Agree about Drumma, not versed on Zay enough to draw that conclusion though. That beat just sounded kinda similar to that Buck one to me but whatever.
Which Kilo Ali album is the best to get?

More Zaytoven and Scooter - with Gucci and OJ: http://soundcloud.com/lvtrmag/young-scooter-ft-gucci-mane Party like it's 2008!
And deej is right, Drumma and Zaytoven are really nothing alike. Drumma Boy moves up and out, Zaytoven moves in circles, dizzily.

Any real french Montana fan knows that he been had that lil slow retarted type flow...so if anything keef sound like himogadlyindisbitch 3 hours ago 16
― Number None, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 20:29 (thirteen years ago)
i like that song... it's keef-esque but not crazily overt imo
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 20:30 (thirteen years ago)
wow that's shameless

how do you hear anything other than Love Sosa when you hear that hook
― fanute da croupier (D-40), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 20:31 (thirteen years ago)
just sounds sing song-y to me which is well within french's realm
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 20:34 (thirteen years ago)
i think we'll leave this verdict up to the rest of ilx
― fanute da croupier (D-40), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 20:36 (thirteen years ago)
lol. Definitely overt. Crazily overt even.
― weak willie (longneck), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 20:41 (thirteen years ago)
That soul is sold.

― flopson, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 20:57 (thirteen years ago)
regardless of whether the french montana is overtly keef (influence is there, i think) it's got no charisma or spark, like "love sosa" has
― king louie riel (rennavate), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 21:05 (thirteen years ago)
it's not about the "influence," the melody is just incredibly similar
― flopson, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 21:07 (thirteen years ago)
And he does it... over a Young Chop beat. Lol.
― weak willie (longneck), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 21:08 (thirteen years ago)
right "influence" is poor word choice, sure
― king louie riel (rennavate), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)
does every young chop beat use that ascending "e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-eeeeeeeeee" sound?

not sure who originated it (zaytoven?), but that sample is standard issue at this point (and played out imo).

i just hope it's not like the next 2 years of rappers going RED ROV-AH RED RO-VAH/SEND ME RIGHT OV-AH/PIPA AND SO-PAH/GOT ME SMOKIN DO-JAH

lmbo
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 21:43 (thirteen years ago)
yeah i think this is more a matter of producing selling practically the same beat over and over than the artist who bought it 'biting.' "Love Sosa" is garbage anyway imo.

i just don't see how it's 1/100th as good as "I Don't Like" honestly
― Citizen Ship (some dude), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 21:49 (thirteen years ago)
the big problem w/ "love sosa" is that "hate being sober" sounds similar but 10x better. dope track tho.
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 21:50 (thirteen years ago)
we haven't really talked about this, but smart that interscope is just going forward with his album
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 21:51 (thirteen years ago)
as opposed to pushing it back til next year? yeah, the time ain't gonna get any righter
― Citizen Ship (some dude), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:02 (thirteen years ago)
i think 'love sosa' has a v diff vibe, darker. i preferred 'hate being sober' at 1st but now that full 'love sosa' is out i'm not sure

aka the kreayshawn maneuver
yeah, or any rapper. i mean, keef has a release date while french.... is promoting a new mixtape? or something. that's just one example.
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:06 (thirteen years ago)
french's grounding is sturdier but his ceiling is probably lower
― fanute da croupier (D-40), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:07 (thirteen years ago)
has "excuse my french" been pushed back?
― flopson, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:10 (thirteen years ago)
it has no date
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:11 (thirteen years ago)
yeah it feels like labels have gotten better lately about capitalizing on whatever momentum they have instead of quixotically waiting out for some imaginary ideal moment to set a release date -- meek and kendrick and 2 chainz definitely benefited from a minimum of hemming and hawing. fun to watch the superstardom preview of the matrix 12 presumed for a$ap rocky wither on the vine, though.
― Citizen Ship (some dude), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:11 (thirteen years ago)
the french thing is especially funny because obviously you could put eli porter on the first verse of "pop that" and it would be just as big a hit but still he's never gonna have a song bigger than that, just give him a fuckin release date already.
― Citizen Ship (some dude), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:12 (thirteen years ago)
yeah, it's so dumb
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:12 (thirteen years ago)
that superstar asap song isn't really getting any burn is it
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:13 (thirteen years ago)
tbh i dont even dislike that song
― fanute da croupier (D-40), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:13 (thirteen years ago)
its such a mercenary stab at a hit record i kind of sympathize, since asap is normally so tastefully evading anything that could resemble a hook
― fanute da croupier (D-40), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:14 (thirteen years ago)
yeah that song is alright... i caught myself singing that hook recently. but if that song does nothing than he's already down two strikes when you consider the hit-boy single from earlier this year
― lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:15 (thirteen years ago)
You mean the one where asap is pretending to be big sean? I think it's coming along.
As for Keef, I'm thinking January would probably be the best date for him, but the most important thing is that it's actually coming out.
― weak willie (longneck), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 22:15 (thirteen years ago)
would like to hear the radio edit of "fuckin' problem" because i have no idea how that's supposed to work
