Thank you for your comments to me. The words I know are true and said very beautifully. I am waiting for my heart to get over the loss. I know I will at least partially someday. I went through our cd's and found his cd's and a DVD of Foreigner and will spend some time today enjoying them and memories of him.

Lyn, I'm so sorry. Let me return a hug you passed to me few days ago. Thanks you for the kind comments then. It is very stressing for the surviver to review our lost love ones personal items, lingering imaginations, thoughts of reasons, purpose of each item smothered deeply in each container. I don't touch anything anymore, leaving it the way my wife placed it 12 months ago. Stay busy and with others.

down into a scary murky black pool near marks place in virginia
the film in the camera failng as it slowly filled up with stagnant pond water.
me struggling cos of the rocks on my back and no air in my lungs.

is it skepticism or is it that you're just tired of seeing them? It wouldn't surprise me that loss of a special person would trigger really strong sense of nostalgia and sadness when someone hears a particular song. I can't think of why someone would lie/exaggerate about this particular type of nostalgia.

i think it seems like such a perfect sob story if someone were going to make one up that at a certain point you wonder if it's possible for that many automotive fatalities to happen to people while they were engaged to be married

plausibility depends on whether they busted out their guitars immediately after the accident, feet away from the disaster

All I can say..is when this song came out..was it 89 or 90? I can't even remember...but they were some VERY fun years. Fuck me...we had a blast. grew up in mn and that event and song has a sort of weird place in my mind, a sad legend that kind of haunts lake superior.

my parents had gord's gold on vinyl and i used to listen to it when i was a kid, that song had a lot of impact on me, it really felt like the world of music opened up to include the sad and scary and mythological events of the world...of course the song i hear now isn't necessarily how the song was to me at the time, but it's got a certain power still

Tears in my eyes. I was poor young polish immigrant in Holand. Lonely. Hard working. I slept on the floor in some warehouse and rent bike and drive to Nijmegen at sunday. I was walking on the streets of night city. Alone. And i listened this song. After years im businessman in Poland. And again im lonely. Even if not poor anymore. I feel like our world went wrong brothers and sisters. I feel do weird but i want listen this song still.

Met my Girl in 1984 in the 9th grade hallway.
She was way out of my league but I had something that made her feel special.
We rescued each other from mutually terrible family lives.
We had a incredible marriage that just got better every day.
Sadly cancer stole her from me this year at age 52, way too young.
I tried so hard to fix it and took care of her best I knew how.
She was afraid that I was going to leave her but I would have died protecting her.
Now that she’s gone I’m just in a fog and feel like half my soul is gone.
I’m sure she knew this would be the case as she always looked ten steps ahead.
She insisted I find love again and remarry.
I’m not sure it’s out there.
I think I had my shot and it was what every man could dream of.
Finding that again seems impossible.
I was broken when she found me and here I am again.
I’m just thankful I have my grand kids that I just adore and love them extra for her too.

I have a letter he wrote me on that night. He was planning to move out to Ravenna, and work on his music away fro the hangers-on and the self-destructive jerks who plagued his life in Cleve. He said he was working on some ideas for our new sound. And he signed it "I will see you sooner than you think, Love Peter" I didn't get that letter until the day of his funeral. I will see him never again. Never again. And as ridiculous as it may seem, I still cry about that, after all these long and unsuspected years.

as a small boy in the 1960s my mother and I watched the reruns of this show and reruns of make room for daddy and Donna Reed and so on. I have nothing but good memories watching all the vintage sitcoms. Now I'm a late middle aged man only three years away from 70. My parents are dead and I'm pretty much alone. Lord what I wouldn't give to go back to the 60s. I would go insane if it wasn't for my two chihuahuas laying by my side. Thank God for my pets and thank God for YouTube.

My Dad always joked about how he wanted this played at his funeral. Then in 2018 he took his own life, only a few months before Keith did the same thing. Me and my brother wanted it played at the cremation service but we got overruled (I guess it may not have been to everyone's taste!). Shame as it would have been a great way to honour his sense of humour. At least we got to play it at the wake.
