i just got drunk downtown with ppl, crashed out, got up at 6, and drove home two hours to work

oh fucking hell i totally forgot abt the jandek show

i had actually forgot to buy tickets and wasn't going to go but a friend called and she snagged one for me so i drove down in spite of knowing i'd miss half the set. it was a pretty subdued show, shadowy sounding, and jandek hid behind a piano for most of it. still, it was great. some yahowa 13 grooves (idk maybe i'm a little off there) + awesome horn work + jandek doing his thing. really glad i made it.

Argh, I didn't realize Laurie Anderson was coming to the Walker! Already sold out. :(

really want to see future of the left at the triple rock, problem is that its on goddamn election night and i dont know if i will be too distracted to actually watch the show. arrrggrhhh

Actually that FOTL show is probably going to be just the distraction I need that night

this is my thought as well, but my wife seems less convinced

she may also be making accurate predictions abt my level of drinking in a tension of election/FOTL/celebration of expected election outcome combo and thinking that she doesn't want to end the night by cramming 185 pounds of dead weight into a passenger seat.

Anybody been to Playing the Building, either in MPLS or elsewhere? Always been a fascinating idea to me, glad to see it's here. Wondering if it's worth 10 bones.

It is not, in my opinion worth the 10 dollars to see the exhibit on its own. If you go during one of the performance nights/days maybe, but in my experience the charm wore off in about four minutes.

I guess it's 'pay what you want' on Thursdays. Maybe I'll go then. Give like 5 and some change.

Or more accurately, 'pay what you can', but seriously, 10 dollars is a fair bit of money for me, SO I CAN SAY THAT
