i just don't get how people can attribute this song's popularity to american or western stereotypes of asians when it is blowing up everywhere: korea, SE asia, oceania, the caribbean.... everybody loves this song, the horsey dance, the guy's charisma, the inventive video, etc.

i love the caribbean and oceania being identified as places where stereotypes of asians don't exist

and we exist in a world where there are lots of nuanced, real representations of asian men in our media... so, it all balances out.

We had a dance party at my Uncle's house on Thanksgiving. I put on Gangnam Style and all my little pre-teen cousins were doing the dance move for it. It was pretty funny.
