Ha, definitely thought of the band first for a long time when I saw the other thread. Just listened to "Chinatown" - is the vocalizing at the end supposed to be reminiscent of "Satellite of Love"?

lou is a tough dude to harmonize with. though i understand there are lulu outtakes where lou and hetfield do some everly brothers numbers.

Eh. Like Luna a lot, but the band lost so much after Stan and Justin left. Those first three albums are great. The rest is like one big, long album I only want to listen to once, though enjoy while it's on.

seems like they are planning more stateside shows in the fall, though? would love to see luna again.

heard an upcoming, very good record by a band called houndstooth and it had a little luna-ish flavor. more bands should sound like luna imho.

Saw them in Glasgow on Sunday night, hadn't seen them live before and really enjoyed it. Setlist was similar to above (http://db.fullofwishes.co.uk/luna/shows/2015-08-02-luna-cca-glasgow-uk.html), flowed really nicely and I thought the Britta/Lee rhythm section was great - felt I actually noticed the baselines more live than I do on record. Now listening back through the albums chronologically.

Oh god I am so excited.

he really is a great drummer -- like the perfect mix of charlie watts and moe tucker.

If Stan (and Justin!) were back I'd see the band in a heartbeat tomorrow night. As it stands ... dunno.

I didn't go to the show last weekend because I was sick. Super bummed. Hopefully will have another chance.

Ha, they might be the perfect example of a band served just fine by live recordings. They're not the most charismatic bunch.

band just tweeted that "this is not a farewell tour" so they seem to have at least general plans for continuing to play live post-2015... would love to see them again.

I'll wait til they play some place that is not the House of Blues, then.

Saw them last weekend for what must have been at least the 10th time but the first since 2001. They were really amazing. Covered The Cure's Fire in Cairo during one encore and came back out again to close with Tugboat.
