This MTV live version of Raisins is awesome. My favourite song on the album.

I have it on vinyl when the were a mere Dinosaur . I am an old past it aunt. I mentioned up thread, that it was - still is - their best. It was a groundbreaking mesh at the time- it really was.As grandavis says, the solos actually contributed to the songs and haven't done since. In my opinion. The latest, for example is widdle , after upper fret wiggle. Boring.
― Jessie Fer Ark (Mobbed Up Ping Pong Psychos), Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:52 (thirteen years ago)
I felt bad for not voting for this so it's nice to see it so high (re Jane's).
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:53 (thirteen years ago)

― EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)
Fuck yeah on 'Nothing's Shocking' btw. Another album that recieved a recent remaster that polished it for the better. Sounded great to begin with though I admit.
― Internet Alan, Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:54 (thirteen years ago)
this will be the boob section of the rundown then
― DJ Mooncup (NickB), Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:56 (thirteen years ago)
would be kind of cool if damaged won this
― space dokken (Edward III), Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:57 (thirteen years ago)
should I listen to that jane's addiction record? I don't think I should
minuteflag ftw
― DJ Mooncup (NickB), Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:57 (thirteen years ago)
it's weird the degree to which Jane's Addiction weren't part of my 80s. it's as though they didn't exist. everyone can prob. say the same about any number of bands in this poll.
― Hellhouse, Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:58 (thirteen years ago)
In the spirit of not being a whiney git, I will say that I think Pigs In Zen is a good song.
― Sock Puppets II (Mr Andy M), Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:59 (thirteen years ago)
its a brilliant album
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:59 (thirteen years ago)
Murph is an under-rated drummer IMO. He kills it on You're Living...
― Arvo Pärt Chimp (Neil S), Thursday, 4 October 2012 20:59 (thirteen years ago)
eiii you should totally listen to Nothing's Shocking! it's great!
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:00 (thirteen years ago)
Man, I hope Damaged doesn't win.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:00 (thirteen years ago)
Pigs in Zen eerily foreshadows Rage Against the Machine for me.

Who gave Evol the #1 btw? You're in my books.
should be higher than Sister, but okay. Death to Our Friends and Shadow of a Doubt two of the best tracks of the 80s IMO.
― Hellhouse, Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:02 (thirteen years ago)
Sister rocks harder though. Evol's charms don't have that much to do with rocking out imo.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:03 (thirteen years ago)
Nothing's Shocking placed about right. Born too Late is another surprise, I didn't realize the early trad doom bands are so popular on ILM.
― Frobisher the (Viceroy), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:04 (thirteen years ago)
Have gone through phases with this but I think at the moment that I prefer Evol to Sister.
― Sock Puppets II (Mr Andy M), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:04 (thirteen years ago)
so sister and confused your idols left for sonic youth
― costly pussy riot (jjjusten), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:06 (thirteen years ago)
I only like Jane Says out of everything I've heard by JA. Too straight ahead rock for me
― Jessie Fer Ark (Mobbed Up Ping Pong Psychos), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:06 (thirteen years ago)
I didn't realize the early trad doom bands are so popular on ILM.
AG was plugging them REALLY hard on the noms threads.
xpost Confusion was #50 iirc. Only Sister left for SY.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:06 (thirteen years ago)
This might be blasphemy but I actually prefer Porno for Pyros to JA.
― Frobisher the (Viceroy), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:07 (thirteen years ago)
evol my #3
― space dokken (Edward III), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:07 (thirteen years ago)

EVOL is like a tour of a dead city. ghostly and tripped, but w/out the undertone of menace on Bad Moon Rising. aside from Death to Our Friends, not a particularly heavy rec, agreed.
― Hellhouse, Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:11 (thirteen years ago)
BIG jump in points there
― Arvo Pärt Chimp (Neil S), Thursday, 4 October 2012 21:11 (thirteen years ago)
