I want to do another poll -- I'm thinking something like a Emo, Screamo, Mallcore + [post]-Hardcore poll. Not sure if that's the best way to describe it... Anyway, can I get added to the end of the list? (I'm sure it won't be up until 2014.)

Been thinking about doing a music books poll for a while. I think it'd probably run alongside these, rather than joining the list (might even do it on ILbooks). Throwing it out there, seeing if there's enthusiasm, big poll fatigue

The 70s polls are balls idea. I'm doing the albums one with him and he's doing the tracks poll. Others are helping out too.

Shakey you should join in nominating as I managed to persuade the others to allow the more guitar-y end of funk in. I think you would enjoy it. We can be a bit looser with definitions w/r/t to funk so it doesn't all have to sound like early funkadelic.

Guys I am so swamped at work for the next few months that I'm going to have to either bail on the Kraftwerk one or push it way down the list.

The last two can be dropped at any time if needed. JVC, if someone else wanted to run the Kraftwerk poll after Saint Etienne as scheduled, would you be OK with that, or would you like to hang on to it, just later?

If someone really wants to step up and take it, I'm fine with that. I just can't possibly make the time for a worthwhile poll to happen in the next few months. I don't want to half-ass it and if someone else can run it, great.

yeah partly. was going to enforce a strict independent labels only rule but include everything from metal and hardcore through to jangly college rock, and also was going for singles instead of tracks so that a handful of bands wouldn't dominate, so it wouldn't have been an exact match, but it does feel like it's too close to go through it all again. but also, i couldn't commit the time. never mind, AGs poll was fun anyway and probably turned out a lot better

in fact he gave me the excuse to ditch it!

A heads-up -- I think some dude alluded to this recently on this thread or another poll thread, but these numbered polls pretty much went on hiatus during December and January last year for best-of-2011 voting and results. Seems reasonable to plan for the same hiatus this year, yeah?
