and complaining about ghostwriting in rap, c'mon guys

space dokken (Edward III), Thursday, 4 October 2012 03:26 (thirteen years ago)

in general i don't buy that much into ghostwriting but i think there's some confirmation bias involved w/ the kreayshawn thing

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 4 October 2012 03:30 (thirteen years ago)

lmao trumping those posts into complaining abt ghostwriting in rap

zvookster, Thursday, 4 October 2012 03:34 (thirteen years ago)

idk i think its pretty fair to say that the enjoyment i got out of gucci gucci had less to do w/ how involved she was in the writing process & more to do w/ the consistency between her persona with the quality lyrics

zvookster, Thursday, 4 October 2012 03:59 (thirteen years ago)

Ghostwriting bothers me in rap but I guess I'm I'm the minority here

Raymond Cummings, Thursday, 4 October 2012 04:02 (thirteen years ago)

i presume some dude's opinions on kreayshawn's flow, voice, force of personality, all the stuff that isn't writing are on the thread - even if not, they're clearly and pretty carefully implied in the post.

i was surprised because this "broke the rap internet" in may 2011 and i just heard about it being ghoistwritten the other day, like some dude.

zvookster, Thursday, 4 October 2012 04:02 (thirteen years ago)

this is not shante spitting biz rhymes, let's be real

zvookster, Thursday, 4 October 2012 04:03 (thirteen years ago)

rap -- especially the rap of kreayshawn's ilk -- is pop, where the entire industry is predicated on artists not writing (or fully writing) their own lyrics. so i have no issue with it.

Candy's fashion has been described as a distinctive stripper-meets-Tumblr aesthetic. She often collaborates with fashion designer Seth Pratt. Following trends in stan culture, Candy has nicknamed her fanbase #FagMob. Considering herself primarily a stripper and rapper, Candy also hosts a blog dedicated to photography.

that new one is garbo but i still think this one kinda has a lil panache

r|t|c, Tuesday, 26 February 2013 19:03 (thirteen years ago)

she seems really boring and repetitive, like "I paid a LOT of money for this metal outfit and this snake and this hair so I am going to do this for like 15 videos"

also she seems weirdly racisty

ICANN Tina Turner (Stevie D(eux)), Tuesday, 26 February 2013 20:17 (thirteen years ago)

shocking

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 26 February 2013 20:19 (thirteen years ago)

I have not seen one video where her shtick was not "I am a v edgy and metallic stripper and I love to swing my hair around a lot!"

"rolling white girl" was suggested as a ilx rap thread title circa gun sounds iirc

i was wondering why it was in here too but debbie has a cameo in the video j0rdan posted so there's some explicit connection there i guess
