I like the green version of This Nation's Saving Grace better.
― _Rudipherous_, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 21:57 (thirteen years ago)
It sounds better when it's got green on the cover.
I've only just noticed is says Grace Schtick on the cover.

I don't get this polling higher than Number of the Beast though, among all of the things that I don't get
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:03 (thirteen years ago)
I thought you would be grateful that any metal from the 80s is placing at this point
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:05 (thirteen years ago)
as burned as we all are on MOP by now, it fucking slays, the other gamechanger that year
― costly pussy riot (jjjusten), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:06 (thirteen years ago)
puppets finished ahead of it in the all-time metal poll iirc
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:06 (thirteen years ago)
jjj what do you think Metallica would have done if they hadn't split up when Cliff Burton died? (Ps please change thread title to 50 instead of 100 now)
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:08 (thirteen years ago)
Thanks!
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:10 (thirteen years ago)
Thought MOP would have been the top ranked Metallica album here (unless "Open up and say.. ahhh!" is placing over RTL)
― Oneohchex Point Charlie (Spectrist), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:15 (thirteen years ago)
you know what you can do with your 'grateful', AG :)

metallica split up after cliff burton died? I have completely misread history
― space dokken (Edward III), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:16 (thirteen years ago)
after 25 years of trying I can say with some finality that I find MOP completely uninteresting
― space dokken (Edward III), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:17 (thirteen years ago)
VG demands more metal!

After some of the discussion on the other thread, I've entertained thoughts about whether Confusion Is Sex might actually be the best Sonic Youth album.
xpost Wow, I've never heard of Manilla Road.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:21 (thirteen years ago)
hahaha ok manilla road is officially the most "only on ilx" thing yet
― costly pussy riot (jjjusten), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:22 (thirteen years ago)

― Frobisher the (Viceroy), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:23 (thirteen years ago)
Manilla Road had a few albums in the alltime metal poll too.
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:23 (thirteen years ago)

― Frobisher the (Viceroy), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:29 (thirteen years ago)
That's one ridiculous cover.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:31 (thirteen years ago)

― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:34 (thirteen years ago)
Hm, the first song makes me think of Kansas (the band) for some reason.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:34 (thirteen years ago)
You should listen to the last track, Flaming Metal Systems it will BLOW YOUR MIND... maybe.
― Frobisher the (Viceroy), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:34 (thirteen years ago)
I'm enjoying it well enough so far.
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:35 (thirteen years ago)
Wait, "Flaming Metal Systems" doesn't seem to be on this?
WTF? Do people in Kansas (the state) really pronounce "lost in Necropolis" this way??
― EveningStar (Sund4r), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:36 (thirteen years ago)
I'm not sure that they're meant to be representative, lol
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:37 (thirteen years ago)
Flaming Metal System is a bonus track. Originally it was on some obscure metal compilation. It was first put on the cd but my lp reissue from last year has it on at the end i think.
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:38 (thirteen years ago)

EPIC DOOM METAL
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 3 October 2012 22:43 (thirteen years ago)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candlemass
Candlemass is an influential Swedish doom metal band established in Stockholm 1984 by bassist, songwriter and bandleader Leif Edling. After releasing five full-length albums and touring extensively throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Candlemass disbanded in 1994, but decided to reform three years later. After breaking up again in 2002, Candlemass reformed in 2004 and have continued to record and perform since then.
